REJOICE WHO DATS!!!
Drew Brees: 'I'd never sit out the season' - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com
"In an interview with ESPN's "Outside the Lines," Drew Brees said that regardless of the circumstances surrounding his contract negotiations with the New Orleans Saints, he would not sit out the entire 2012 season. Brees has until July 16 to sign a contract extension with the Saints or he would be forced to play under the one-year franchise offer of around $16.3 million or he could decide to sit out some or all of the season. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who is involved in a protracted contract negotiation with his team, said Tuesday in an interview with ESPN that he would never sit out the season. "I'd never sit out the season," Brees said Tuesday. "I love the game too much." |
I am going buy a cake

That's the best thing I've heard since the wife said I could have some!!
I still think Brees was trying to make a point to the Saints |

I wonder if he knows something about his contract that is giving him more confidence to make such a comment. Maybe they really are closer to a deal. I love the words, but still want to see him sign a LT deal before it's even an issue.

If I were the Saints & Brees, I would keep the negotiations under wraps (even if the final details were completed weeks ago).
Once Der Furher releases information regarding the appeals, I would have a prepared release for a news conference from the team's press area for the organizations response within an hour of the appeals decision: LIVE - Brees contract announcement and signing.... I do not think the PR aspect of the Brees' contract is underestimated by the Saints, Brees, or Condon. |

If Goodell really has it out for the Saints, it leaves a "last resort" for Der Furher. Time to start the Zofran... |
Thank the lord

Can I get some Cool Aid for that cake. I never though he would sit out.

Exactly, that's also what I was saying earlier. Sitting out a season would just go against his character as a competitor, and at 33 he really can't afford to "lose" any seasons. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kmhgBrp8lU...y+guy+cake.jpg |

p.s. Rhetorical! |
An optimist says the glass is half full...
a pessimist says the glass is half empty... An engineer says the container is twice the size it needs to be. The Dude says Quote:
Me? I picks up the glass and drinks  and look to see if all the cake is gone. |

Dude you are a buzz kill on a night that I won the Lottery, and got BJs from two strippers for free. 1. There is no 1 year contract on the table. 2. Brees only wants a long term deal. 3. If you are referencing the franchise tag, they can tag him again next year. 4. Your statement is nearly impossible. Lastly, you are not a pessimist. You are an obstructionist to any mood that does not involve a rope and a chair.:peace: |
Hey Guys, I heard there was cake, came running.

Sign along term deal !!! all ready
|
Ya know, he's just waiting on that ruling. I do believe hes is going to sign the LT deal but not until the ruling comes out and probably not until very close to the deadline of July 16th. And I wouldn't be surprised if both Drew & the Saint's waited until the 16th to announce it, since that is a Monday. No one makes big annoucements just prior to a weekend.
