Names you wanna see kicked around after Brees is signed!!
Of course Brees is the most important signing of the offseason, but once that is done is there anyone who you think deserves a look with the money we have left.
For me Visante Shiancoe is a name I would kick around. I don't see any depth behind Jimmy and we really don't know if David Thomas is coming back at full strength. |
Andre carter on a one year deal, he's just coming off ACL surgery and he's not the youngest but he's been productive and would a good teacher for the young DE's

I agree with both your picks. Love Andre Carter or Visante Shiancoe.
I know it might cause a stink, but Im also for bringing back Shockey as a solid 3rd TE, he knows the system, he's tough, and him being injury prone won't mean much, because he won't be playing a lot. http://www.ourlads.com/nflfa/ Yahoo, a football topic. Thank you god. |
We could use some improvements & depth on the O-Line. Andre Gurode at C is worth a look. Max Starks would be a quality veteran OT.
Dunno if WR Roy Williams has much left, but he could probably still be a goal-line threat. Patrick Crayton is out there, too. Jackie Battle is an interesting free agent RB. At 6'2, 238 he's a big back who played well in spot duty with the Chiefs last season. If we're looking at TE's, Billy Bajema is more of a blocker but could probably be signed reasonably. I personally wouldn't complain about Shockey coming back, either ... I like his fire. |

I know we probably won't have the money left to do it but I say give Jimmy Graham the extension he deserves before he hits free agency next year and we have to hit him with the franchise tag! Wait... I have to correct myself, he'll be a restricted free-agent so we wouldn't have to franchise him.

Terrell Owens cuz I'm bored to death of bountygate and Brees' contract non-stories

I'm a Vikes' fan - which is not a popular disposition to have around here ;-) - and having seen what Shiancoe brings to the table from season to another... I'd have to say that I wouldn't want the Saints to sign him.
He is very unpredictable in what he brings to the turf on any given Sunday, he can be good to great one game and then such balls the next three dropping everything thrown at him and missing his blocking assignments. So, I really don't think that the Saints need that type of a player on their TE rotation, Graham and a healthy David should be a good pairing along with Higgings and some other young guy. Max Starks on the other hand would intrigue me... |
