Saints ink two more draft picks
The Saints got a late start on the draft pick signing, but they are making their way quickly through the group now that they’ve started.
New Orleans announced Monday that they have agreed to contracts with defensive back Corey White and offensive tackle Marcel Jones on four-year deals. By PFT’s count, that leaves 34 draft picks still unsigned and Jones, on the left in the picture, becomes the last seventh-round pick to sign with his team. New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with sixth-round draft choice G Andrew Tiller on a four-year contract.
Tiller, 23, was selected by the Saints in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 179th pick overall. The 6-foot-5 inch, 334-pound guard lettered for three years at Syracuse under former Saints Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach Doug Marrone. He appeared in 35 games with 28 starts at right guard for a resurgent Orangemen program. In 2011, his redshirt senior year, he started all 12 games and was an All-Big East First-Team selection. The Central, Islip, N.Y. native became a full-time starter in 2010. He blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher in both of his seasons as a starter. Tiller graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies. Saints Agree to Terms on Four-Year Contract with Sixth Round Draft Choice G Andrew Tiller I like yhe fact he played for Coach Marrone, should mean he is a very sound OL and our staff must have gotten som inside info on him.
