Saints still seeking stability
The lack of a big-name free-agent signing or a blockbuster trade involving the New Orleans Saints should not be interpreted as a lack of improvement.
Instead, it was exactly what General Manager Mickey Loomis and head coach Jim Haslett had planned. "We didn't make a lot (of off-season moves) because this is the first year we're stable," Haslett said Tuesday while visiting the area as part of the Saints' off-season caravan. "That's something we wanted to do. We didn't want to make a lot of changes, but we wanted to improve a lot of areas through the draft. But we were able to sign Brian Young and Aaron Stecker, who we thought we needed. "We played well at the end of the year on defense and we wanted to have stability there. We wanted to upgrade the backups on offense and I think we did that." want more? click here: http://www.shreveporttimes.com/sport...89D20A1D.shtml |
