Sean Payton Loses $3.45M Texas Mansion With Disco In Divorce

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why does she get the house? Did she do anything to contribute to the purchase of it? I doubt it. I won't go on a rant considering I don't know any facts about what happened to them, nor would I ...

I won't go on a rant considering I don't know any facts about what happened to them, nor would I want the media to inquire about such things. But something smells suspiciously like gold digger, to me. Hope I'm wrong, but then what difference does it make.

Could be a hush agreement on something Sean may have done. That's a lot to roll over on without being guilty of something.

20 years of marriage and the raising of two kids shows little signs of gold digging and plenty of contribution towards the buying of the house. He's probably thankful she didn't get one of his testicles too.

Let me say again that I don't claim to know for sure the reasons. But as for your comment about 20 years of marriage... That doesn't disprove the possibility of gold digging. Sean has been in coaching for a long time, and there is a lot of money involved in that. You'd be surprised how long a person will live a lie to benefit themselves financially. I don't know that Sean's wife is one of those people, but the fact that she got so much stuff makes it sound like she drove some pretty hard pre-nups, or maybe something more recent agreement, but either way it seems pretty steep. He brings home the bacon, and while she was there to help raise the kids I don't consider that contributing to buying a house. I don't know who's fault it is for breaking up their marriage, but I just think it's stupid that she got as much as she did.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

You are correct. But 20 years of marriage does dramatically dampen suspicion of it.

Thing is they were together well before he became a successful coach... before he became any kind of coach. Together before he went undrafted to the NFL.

Or the fact they didn't have a pre-nup? He was a position coach in the college ranks when they were married. Half of poop is still poop. He didn't become this successful until way later in his coaching career. It's the law of the land which is why she's getting what she's getting. Unless there's a pre-nup, she's getting half.

This shows your age, inexperience, and the fact you probably don't have any kids. Also, have you read her bio? She's not sitting at home being a trophy wife. This isn't one of those run in the mill pieces of gold digging eye candy we're talking about here. 20 years of marriage... she's getting what the law says she deserves.

This is more interesting to me than all that bounty stuff.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

Right now, if Mickey Loomis walked outside and dropped a turd in a punch bowl, that would be more interesting than all this bounty stuff.

Bounty/Goodellgate is nauseating. I'm only covering it to give what I can to "the fight" and a little google bump which hurts King Roger. Otherwise, I'm sick to my stomach.

I wasn't attempting to start a big thing, and I said more than once that I don't know what all the details are. But you hit below the belt, guy. I have a wife and daughter, and spend most of my energy trying to stay sane enough to take care of my daughter, while my wife sits on the computer most of the day and breaks every vow she ever made. Yeah, I know a little something about life, but you wouldn't know that about me, would you sir?

I wasn't basing my comments, which were nothing but hypothetical, on some stereotype. I speak from experience of what a person can do to another. I have nothing more to say.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Hardly a gold digger. Payton was allowed to do what he does because the person taking care of the home and kids was Beth. I don't know what went on between them but I know that coaches wives take care of making sure the bills get paid on time, kids are fed, watered and schooled. They had been married for nearly 20 years and it is a partnership. If she had come along in the last couple of years maybe she could be labelled a gold digger. Not saying she should have got the house, I don't know what she should have got but I think it's unfair to say she had nothing to do with his success.
