Dwight Freeney Trading Partners
In March, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Colts wouldn't give Freeney away and wanted quality value in return. Come the end of the preseason, there could be a nice demand for him. Perhaps Indianapolis could land a third- or fourth-round pick for a team desperate for an edge-rusher. Here are three teams that could be fits for Freeney.

Hellz yeah!! Pay the man!! :)

3rd or 4th and a 14 million dollar salary... hmm.
Pass. |
Can't afford two things: paying him or letting him go to Atlanta
|
I would rather beef up our Oline if anything at that price. Some secondary depth might be a good idea too.
|
Anyone know if A. Carter has been signed as of yet?.. He could be a good 1 year fix for the DE position.

If he would restructer the contract Freeney would be a great signing.
He would also be the perfect mentor to Hicks aswell. Not many better players to learn from. Just from reports we have 8.5ml free space and if the Vilma appeal fails his money ontop. If there is any season to take the risk on a players it one that allows you to make history by winning a home Super Bowl and the thought of that fool having to hand the trophy to Mr Benson makes me smile...Alot. |
I just watched Loomis deal out a 100 million dollar contract over 5 years with 60 mil guaranteed.... AND drop our cap figure by 6 mil...
I am sure he can handle Freeny's measly salary. Actually..... when Loomis is finished with Freeney's contract we will have 26 million in cap space. :-) |

Jordan is a quality LDE who's only gonna get better. Smith is very solid and I expect his production to increase dramatically under Spagnoulo. Galette and Wilson are lightning fast youngsters who could easily develop into pass rushing demons. McBride has proven, when healthy, is at worst an average NFL DE. As a group I'd say we're about NFL average with good upside in Galette and Wilson. |
We don't need to sign another "name"
All Our D needs to do is limit teams to < 20pts per game. I'm confident that the players and coaches in place can do that. |

No, we may not "need" to... It sure would be nice to have a great pass rusher on the end though. He's a game changer and we can afford him if he's willing. |
