How bad was our pass defense last year?

I agree, our run defense was weak. Couple that with teams getting a lead and then start eatting up the clock. That is my general recollection of last year (in our losses).

I am saying they are partly responsible yes... but also those qb\'s you are siting didn\'t shred the redskins but were good performances granted. Just because you have Champ on one side of the field doesn\'t mean McNabb can\'t dump a quick pass off to Deuce coming out of the back field... that counts for the stats and misleading when using the passing stats for Champ.

Come on man. Teams pass the ball to thier running back against us also.

So what we are seeing here is that the Saints could have the top 2 corners in the league but if they have a quarterback who cannot complete over 50 % of his passes the Saints are sunk ... :P

Rather amusing stats Billy , notice that the play off caliber teams quarterbacks all completed above 50 % of their passes against these top 2 corners .

Brooks did not .... ;)

You will notice that Delhomme threw 2 ints and Brooks threw none and the Saints won that game and for the year Brooks completed 60% of his passes. :o

J. Delhomme 20/30 317 0 2
A. Brooks 14/30 121 1 0

Brooks - 59.1
Hasselbeck- 61.0
Delhomme - 59.2

The play off equation seems to play out as though an N.F.L. team either needs a top 5 defense to make the play offs or they need an effecient quarterback who can complete passes at over 60 % . A boat load of snow can be helpful too ..... ;)
