Inside Dish: Saints trying to corner market

By TSN Correspondents -

The Saints are in the market for a cornerback and might be willing to part with a player and a draft pick to make a deal. The club likes its top three players at the position--Fred Thomas, Jason Craft and Ashley Ambrose--but would like to bolster its depth. The Saints have shown interest in Green Bay's Mike McKenzie but think the Packers' asking price of a first-round pick is too high. The Saints have an extra second-round pick in 2005 but are hesitant to part with it unless the right player becomes available. . . .

I think the deal gets done with a second round pick.
This is probaly a better move for the Packer than the Saints.
With the addition of Craft and the play of Brown another CB might be
more money spent unwisley.
What the Saints still need is LB help - Maybe after 6/1 that will happen.

I like to bring in McKenzie but if it doesn\'t happen I would be ok with that first rounder no way. LB\'s I think we are set, Trotter won\'t improve us in that category... we have talent we just need to use it and put them in the right position to make plays.

Despite his Predator looking hair, I would like to see McKenzie in Black and Gold. I think even a second rounder is too high for the guy, but that doesn\'t mean a team won\'t give it. I am skeptical about the Saints making this move, however the thought of Craft, McKenzie, and Thomas fighting for the starting jobs with Ambrose as the dime and Brown lurking makes me feel MUCH better than what we\'ve got now. One injury with the current group and I think we\'re real vulnerable.

Plus, consider this: Henderson could very well be our third WR. Would you want a guy like Ambrose matching up with him man-to-man? Can you say TOAST?
