Packers still looking to fill holes

I guess we can make this thread the \"official\" Mike McKenzie and Green Bay Packers thread....

I\'ve been skeptical whether or not the Packers will really trade McKenzie, but things are getting intereting. They are in some trouble at DE and DT. That just happens to be the positionswhere our team is deep at.

Here are a couple of quotes that may suggest the Packers think McKenzie won\'t be back and outlines the Packers situation on defense.
Favre, though, continued to take umbrage with McKenzie, who is maintaining his holdout until the Packers trade him.

Using the situation involving McKenzie as an example, Favre said \"the tension between the team and the player gets worse and worse\" the longer the player is adamant about staying away.

\"I don\'t know what\'s going to happen,\" Favre added. \"But, somewhere (next) season if Mike McKenzie is not here, he\'ll see that we\'ll still have fun, we\'ll still compete, we\'ll still play. Whether or not he wants to be a part of that, it\'s up to him.

\"I would want to be a part of it. I\'d much rather be in a place, speaking for the fans, that rallies around the team and the individual.\"
Packers | Jackson Sits Out Practice - from www.KFFL.com
Sat, 5 Jun 2004 10:03:33 -0700

Rob Demovsky, of PackersNews.com, reports Green Bay Packers DT Grady Jackson (knee) sat out Friday\'s practice, June
To the bewilderment of Green Bay Packers officials, defensive tackle Cletidus Hunt was a no-show for the second straight day at minicamp Thursday.

No reason for Hunt\'s unexcused absence has been given by the team.

Although attendance isn\'t mandatory for the final off-season minicamp, head coach/general manager Mike Sherman expected Hunt to be on the field Thursday morning after he failed to show the first day.

\"Don\'t even ask me about it. Don\'t even ask,\" a visibly perturbed Sherman said after Thursday\'s practice inside the Don Hutson Center.
