Joe Vitt: Adrian Arrington has been the star of training camp so far
New Orleans Saints receiver Adrian Arrington off to a good start in training camp - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com
This sounds awfully familiar to me, having an amazing training camp and preseason, only to end up on the injury report Lets see how it plays out, maybe he's for real this time? I think Nick toon wins it though |
I really like this guy from his UofM days and the potential is there. If he can stay healthy, I'd like to see him in that fourth spot for one season.
|
I've been advocating for this guy since his draft by the Saints...
But his reluctance to contribute on special teams, his poor health are major disappointments... Everyone can be a star in training camp - it's when the real bullets fly that I want to see something... |
Wow - where all the folks that were bashing AA in the other thread? If you ask me I think he is the next Victor Cruz.
|
I don't have any strong opinion of Arrington, but haven't been all that impressed by what I've seen. I hope there's some truth to the "training camp star" talk, we need another WR to step up this year to fill that Meachem-shaped hole.

Were talking about practice, not the game, not the game were talking about practice. Time to step up Adrian,

Nick Toon is our future star receiver and Joe Morgan will make the roster if only for special teams. I think Roby is going to be gone. |

Now or never for him.
I only joined the nation last season so have not seen much of him but with the cap situation he needs to show what he can when the pressure is on. |
Yep, our two new Captains: Arrington and Shanle.
Vitt has GOT to be at the bottom of his Fantasy Football League. LOL Alaska |

With Colston, Henderson, Meachem and Moore locked into the top 4 spots, there's a whole bunch on NFL starting WR's that would be inactive on Sunday's with these Saints. |
Looking at his pic, he's still basically a toothpick, and I think that's why he's always getting hurt. It doesn't seem like our strength and conditioning has put any muscle or weight on him in 4 years.
I've never had problems with his hands, and it seems like he's got the requsite speed and height, just needs to stay on the field. All that said, I still like Morgan a LOT and don't know much about Toon. |
Total déjà vu. Pretty sure I've heard this same exact thing the last two years. Time for him to put it all together until February.

Turn up the heat!

FRankly with the talent we have, Arrington needs to be the star at this stage and continue to perform, to get anywhere near the roster long term.
|
I think that we will carry 5 receivers. Toon would likely be jerked off the practice squad and Morgan is still an unknown that could be put on the practce squad. AA makes the list this year. I hope.
We've been known to carry 6. |

I have no doubt that we'll carry 6 again, and the early favorites for the 53 are... Colston Henderson Moore Toon Morgan Arrington Givens to the PS and Roby as the odd man out, likely to return if we have some injuries. |
I don't want want AA on the team. I don't see how his legs will hold up if someone puts a good lick on him. I think we have seen his ceiling and want to see what Morgan or Givens can do. They will likely be able to contribute to special teams.

He would fit nicely in this league as a 2nd or 3rd WR. Unfortuinately we have one of the best threesome's of WR's in this league so it'll be hard for him to break the top 3, on this team. Since he can't play special teams his days in New Orleans may be numbered, although I think he can be a fine #2 or #3 on many teams. But the 4th through 6th WR's are normally guys who excell at special teams and can play WR in a pinch. The Saints obviously like his potential or he wouldn't have lasted this long with us. |
