Arrington knows his time in now
1 Attachment(s)
METAIRIE — Saints receiver Adrian Arrington has been on the bubble ever since New Orleans took him in the seventh round of the 2008 draft.
But with a spot opening in the receiving rotation after Robert Meachem signed with San Diego in free agency, Arrington knows now is the time for him to earn consistent playing time. Four days into training camp, Arrington is showing he just might be the player to take Meachem’s spot, making diving catches and coming up with receptions in tight coverage each day. “I’ve obviously been in this system for so many years now,” Arrington said. “Everything is kind of clicking. Hopefully I can continue to keep it going. It’s still early right now.” Continue reading. Arrington knows his time in now | HoumaToday.com |
Chirp......chirp.......chirp
Maybe we'll be discussing this a few games into the season. |
Man this sounds so familiar for some reason...hmmm
|
He sounds doubtful
|
Brees could make him look real good if he runs his routes.
|
still think he has potential

Sounds like he had a strong day today in camp.

Am I the only one sick of Arrington? He never seems to pan out after all the preseason hopeful hype..... I think Joe Morgan shines and we finally cut ties with Arrington this season....
|
Not me I'm still in the AA fan base. I hope he nails it this time, and if not... I have no prob. showing he the door either.
|
Don't see what the fuss is about. It's not like he was ever counted on or put in position to contribute.
Colston/Graham/Moore/Meachem/Henderson/Sproles/Thomas/Ingram .... .... .... Arrington I mean crap... so what if the 5th/6th receiver on our roster isn't contributing. Not many do. If you are disappointed in him, it's because you were expecting to be someone he's not. He's not Marques Colston part deux... he never was. If this is finally the year he can become even a 30 catch guy for us... great. If not, we'll move on to someone else. |
It's now or never son. I've still got your back...........for now.

I believe that what is happening with Arrington this year (basically fighting it out with Joe Morgan) is what was supposed to happen *last* year, but then Morgan got injured in preseason. When Morgan got injured last year, Arrington's status became a lot less do-or-die. But now it's time to sort this roster spot out, once and for all, and have them all push each other and compete. The arrival of Toon makes it even more interesting.
|
No hate here. I want to see him be GREAT !
|
I'm curious, who was AA supposed to replace last year? Colston? Henderson? Meachem?
|
Need another deep threat. AA and Toon are slow. My bet is on Morgan. Little faster and seems confident enough to grab this spot.

The thing about Courtney Roby is that that the dude fights his way on to the roster every August - he does whatever is asked of him and more. He's no superstar, but he earns that freaking spot each year by making specific plays. Say what you will about him, but he is scrappy and has attitude, and sometimes he's the only guy on special teams who looks like he can actually tackle. He's been written off by people before and stuck around, when a lot of other special teams dudes in his category (Chris Reis, Pearson Proileau) are long gone. Maybe this will be his year to not make the team, but we'll see.
Also, apparently Special Teams Coach Greg McMahon's idea of a special teams "return plan" consists of Courtney Roby running out of the end zone at breakneck speed, and smacking into a wall of bodies at the 20. If we decide to go in a different direction with that, like maybe actually set up a return with some blocking, then maybe Joe Morgan might take the job from Roby. But as of right now, nobody on the team is better than Roby at running like a bezerk maniac, smacking into walls of people at the 20, and getting a concussion or neck injury from it. No one else has shown they have that skill set, LOL. |
