Drew Brees league's Most accurate QB in passing last season
Stats Inc has released statistics showing how few Bad passes Brees threw last season. Its released on the patriots blog to show Brady as #21, which is a surprise , but I think its important because it shows just how efficient Brees is ,even though he threw the 2nd most passes in the NFL. I think we got our moneys worth. How anyone thought we would not have the arm strength when he was 1st drafted by the chargers I will never know. It takes a lot of concentration and stamina to throw that many times that accurately.

This list is percentage wise. Brady also threw the most bad passes at 107 followed by Fitzgerald, Newton and Palmer at 101.

Tony Romo, is #2

On another team with a better owner and HC Romo might be elite, but not in Dallas on that Joke wagon. |

Now get this.
Drew Brees has more accurate passes than almost everyone's attempted passes. The only exception is Matthew Stafford Drew Brees (61 bad passes/657 attempts) = 596 accurate passes v Matthew Stafford (97/663) |
oh yeah, didnt even see that UK, thanks. Brees is one of those QB's that will be talked about after his career. Unless he gets 2 more Super Balls. Then people might start watching his stats and find he was the best overall QB of his time.

A throw out of bounds is equal to an interception, in that stat. Which makes it pretty worthless, IMO. There are much more relevant stats that can be used to make the "Drew is the greatest" argument.
Rodgers, 9th most accurate? Behind Romo, McCoy, Orton, Kolb? I'll say again, behind ORTON!? Not even the most ardent anti-Rodgers man would put him behind Orton for accuracy. |
Thats not an accurate depiction I think. Any QB's throws out of bounds is a lost chance, so its equal. You think Brees doesn't throw balls away to.
Every stat has flaws and truths to it. Throwing them all way makes no sense, and would mean Brady is equal to sanchez because we wouldn't know how to measure them. I dont think theres any argument that Brees is great in my book, lol. Also by not throwing out of bounds as much, which could be an excuse for some QB, because they just dont see the field well, Brees shows how well he reads coverage and knows the offense. I can believe Rogers is 9th. I think you might be leaning more toward the Legend of Rogers rather than the facts or stats on Rogers. Brees beat Rogers in almost all stats, even Ints lol. Rogers only had a higher passer rating. GB showed that even without Rogers that offence can do just fine with a 2nd string. Their TE/WR core is crazy good. Dont get me wrong I think Rogers is great. Why wouldn't you put Rogers behind Orton for accuracy ? I mean if the throws prove it. We are not going on fiction or belief here. Thats a bad stat, lol I was surprised to Brady at 21. One would think it, but there it is. This isn't a QBR and everyone gets the same rules. Why don't you take away Throws out of bounds and see what list you come up with. |
I would think he was the most accurate QB over the past few seasons No?
|
Yes.
|
yea, probably sense 2006 is my completely uneducated guess.

There are only three possible candidates for "greatest QB in the league" - Brees, Rodgers, Brady. No-one else can make any sort of case. If any stat puts two of those three 9th and 21st, it's a sign that the stat is no use in evaluation - not a sign that Rodgers is worse than Orton and that Brady isn't top 20. I'm not disputing that Brees may be best in the league - I'm only disputing that this stat is any use. |
