Trade Bait...
I don't know about you guys, but I got the feeling the Saints were auditioning trade bait...
Man, where, were all these running backs when we played Seattle (rhetorical question alert)? No way I move Sproiles, but I think the rest of the depth chart may be expendable... We could use some depth on both sides of the line and cornerback... Hope we're scouting as well... |
Unfortunately they wil be cuts and nothing to trade. Every team knows we can't keep alp of them so they'll wait until we cut 1 or 2.
|
I don't think any of them will garner trades
|
I'm sure there's a team out there with an offensive lineman, defensive end, et al that is in the same position and wants value...
Detroit can't keep all those defensive ends (can't sign 'em either (C Avril))... I'd like to get some help at CB, DE, DT, OT... |

... but that is a good point, maybe that's why Cadet was in there getting so many carries ... he looked good. |
The Saints won't get any trade offers for Cadet because, as it was already said, everybody knows the Saints will have to cut him. But Ivory might get some offers, if the Saints decide they wanna go with Cadet or Baynard.

It was just the first preseason game.

You really can't get much in trade for an undrafted rookie free agent from Appalachian State and a year of Pearl River Community College, or an undrafted free agent from Tiffin. If he's looking halfway good, I promise you that Cadet will break a toenail and go on Injured Reserve right before the season starts. Or practice squad. No one else in the league wants Ivory because of his injury history and nobody besides the Saints cares about the backfield at Tiffin. Not worried.
|
... Ok, I stand corrected ... the Avril deal is off the table, ... good thing this stuff really isn't up to me, eh?
|
I'm sayin' Thomas and Ingram are safe and they're showcasing Ivory for a trade. He was in the game for quite a while there. Whatever it is, it'll be done before Loomis is exiled.
|
Cadet replaces Ivory.. after what i saw last night.,. and I am a big Ivory fan.
|
Struggled at times to stay up due to the time and watching the Olympics but from what I saw Cadet looked very good.I like Ivory but his fitness record means he is unreliable.
|
let's at least get a few more preseason games in before the trade talk starts...
|
If new guys can replace Ivory and ???, then we should make a move...
We will NEVER be on the end of a trade that would net us a RB straight up for Avril; there would have to be other considerations... But the time is now and if we have an over abundance at a position; we must make the move... No way Sproiles geauxs anywhere... Pierre Thomas would net the most in compensation; but he's the next most reliable back... With Ingram, there's alot invested; and has the most potential... Ivory would seem the most expendable, but has proven to be the hardest runner of the bunch... |
Unless an injury happens, Ivory needs to go. He has the ability to play for someone. He can be a productive #2 somewhere. On the Saints, he's the 4th RB. Cadet clearly showed he can handle that role and brings more to special teams.
