Devery Henderson
He's looked very unimpressive in training camp, missing a LOT of balls thrown to him, and not running routes correctly.
He looked terrible last night.... Anybody wonder if Devery might be on the bubble, in favor of one o the younger guys? |
Devery always starts out slowly and then comes on by the end of preseason. I doubt any moves like getting rid of Henderson are going to happen while Sean's away.
|
He should be fine. He's really the only deep threat we have and with the run game looking strong, he's going to get open. He's also a great blocker. I don't see him going anywhere.
|
I think devery is safe for a while, no one has near enough experience to replace him
Morgan is an unknown, Arrington is made of paper mâché and we haven't seen toon yet He will kick it up a notch in regular season, he's become one of our most dependable receivers, whoever thought that would happen when he struggled with drops |
Devery isn't going anywhere
|
How many plays was he in last night?

How does one come to a conclusion about a first string player when they only played one series? Not to mention that we ran the ball that first series more than passing. |
Well, Henderson's never exactly been a possession WR. We take a few deep shots toward him per game, maybe he makes the occasional 3rd-and-long catch, but we rely on guys like Colston & Graham to move the chains.
Devery has a place in this offense, and we're a little short at WR already. He'll be fine. |

I know one thing, I liked what I saw out of Joe Morgan.
|
We have a few starters that did not see anything last night.
Graham Coleston Moore ...... |
Add Henderson to that list
|
I think they need a sure fire Downfield gunner to replace Meachem.
I dont think Devery is that guy anymore, they need to be looking at other options like Toon or Morgan, whoever can run fast. |

Devery is probably safe for now, but his leash is getting short in my opinion. He has had a lot of ups and downs but last year he went long stretches without contributing anything. He has improved in catching the ball over the years but he's not better than Morgan in that regard. He does have more experience... A lot more, and that's all that's keeping him ahead of Morgan, because Joe might actually be faster than Devery.
You gotta get open and if Devery doesn't start doing that like he used to, we have other guys to take his role of running the deep fly all day long. |
Devery will kick in as soon as it matters.
The reason he was quiet at times last year is because there is only one ball. We have 5 receivers who are stars. |

EDIT: I meant he could lose his spot in the offense. NOT his spot on the roster. He's a lock this season and he's earned that status. |
Devery is an intrgral part of the Saints offense. He's a very important role player. He is not on the bubble. Colston, Moore, Henderson and Morgan are locks. AA will likely win the 5th spot. The choice will be to keep 6 with Toon or IR him.

Every year someone wants to cut Devery and every year he always makes the team.
Give the guy a break. When Colston went down, Devery stepped up. While Lance was down, Devery stepped up. Everytime we need a BIG, down the field play, DEVERY STEPS UP. |
Last year is not this year. If he can preform like he did last year then he is this year.... If not.. He is sooooo last year.
|
Meahem and Devery were interchangeable to me. Both had trouble with drops in the beginning and both were deep threats. The way I see it Drew seemed to prefer Meachem.
