Its all about PR. Even if the league has enough circumstancial evidence to convince most that a pay-to-injure program was going on, they don't want their Commissioner tied up in a messy legal battle televised for the world to see. Thats NOT the image they want to show the world.
So even if they think they can win this thing, they'd probably rather settle and be done with it. Now they just have to convince Vilma to call off his dogs. Good luck with that Roger. |
