I sure hope he returns the line to its former greatness. In 1991 and 1992 our three leaders in teh sack category had more sacks than our entire team last season. Actually, that\'s true of the 2000 season as well.
In fact, Jim Haslett, the great defensive minded coach, whose focus has been our Dline ever since he got here and shipped Glover out (and Johnson left) has produced some great numbers. Just take a look at our sack totals year by year under Haslett. 2000 - 66 2001 - 53 2002 - 38 2003 - 31 I sure hope Pease can reverse that trend. Good thing Haslett got rid of all those worthless Ditka players on D and found some studs for our line. :P |
