Some Saints injury updates
Saints WR Adrian Arrington underwent knee surgery.
There's no timetable for his return. Arrington was pushing hard for No. 4 wideout duties with a strong camp, but those aspirations are scrapped now. Injured Nick Toon (foot), Joseph Morgan and Courtney Roby are the candidates for gig. Larry Holder on Twitter Darren Sproles sustained a minor knee injury during Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. If it were the regular season, Sproles would play against the Jaguars this Friday. But he'll rest up and is expected to be a go for the Saints' fourth preseason game. Sproles hasn't missed a single regular season game in the last four years. Source: Larry Holder on Twitter Garrett Hartley remains the favorite to win the Saints kicker job. Veteran John Kasay was signed just in case Hartley wasn't fully recovered from his 2011 hip injury. Hartley is 17 years younger, has four years left on his contract and has kicked well in practices. The Superdome and the Saints' explosive offense make Hartley a strong fantasy kicking option. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune |
Re: Some Saints updates
I wonder why there hasn't been any info on what Tom Johnson's injury, that kept him off the field against the Pats, is/was?

Re: Some Saints updates
I would like to know about Hawthorne's status. He didn't play against the PATS and Cassilas started in his place. I have yet to hear any news on him.

Re: Some Saints updates
Knee injuries.....
Sproles - No surgery = minor Arrington - ANY knee injury that requires surgery is MAJOR... Clean out, cartilage scrape.... All major... When you clean out or scrape cartilage you remove a little cartilage each time... |

Darren Sproles sidelined with sore knee
Saints running back Darren Sproles will spend this week nursing a sore knee.
Sproles will sit out Friday night’s preseason game against the Jaguars, Saints coach Joe Vitt confirmed today. However, the injury is not particularly serious, and Vitt said that if it were the regular season, Sproles would go. Darren Sproles sidelined with sore knee | ProFootballTalk |
Re: Some Saints updates
Patrick Robinson returned to practice today and turned in the play of the day once again!!
Colston ran a go route, Robinson was running stride for stride with him and beat colston for the ball, slightly underthrown but who cares, our DB's are doing awesome!! Pat robinson having a hell of a camp! |

Hard to say, I guess it also depends on whether or not they will still be mostly using Payton's playbook or if Carmichael has created a book of his own. |
Re: Some Saints injury updates
Saints LCB Jabari Greer (hernia surgery) is "progressing real well."
"I'm feeling good, I'm ready to get back," Greer said Monday. "...I'm starting to get some movement back and I feel real good." The New Orleans Times-Picayune doesn't expect Greer to suit up in the preseason, but believes he'll be 100 percent for Week 1. Greer started all 16 games for the Saints in 2011, making 71 tackles and one interception. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune |
