Where did the claim that we were spying on teams even come from?

I'm just curious cause you'd think if we're gonna dedicate such a huge investigation to all this, it would have been more obvious.

Especially now that we're hearing that there's no evidence to the contrary.

I feel like the claim would have more to back it up if the media was gonna make a big deal about it.

ESPN reported it, keeping their "source" confidential

Yes it was that totally worthless broadcast station

One of ESPN's "reporters" named John Barr was hell-bent on digging up more dirt on the Saints after the whole "Bountygate" thing happened, so he pretty much started harrassing everyone involved with the Saints. Somewhere along the way someone gave him this little piece of B.S. and he reported back to ESPN and they blew it up into another nail in the coffin of the Saints without any evidence/research/credibility of any sort.

I think the wire tapping thing holds water, however with the wrong team, it surely wasnt the Saints doing the wire tapping.

Where I think the wiretapping was going on was actually during the Patriots spygate era, this is quite frankly what I think Spygate was more than recording video. Evidence wise may not show nothing since Goodell destroyed whatever evidence their was, but their was some things flying around by word of mouth sometime back during the early 2000s when Nick Saban was coaching the Dolphins, their was a Miami vs NE game that season where Miami shut NE out with a score of something like 24-0, maybe it was 2004 season? 03? not sure, but the story originally went that Saban or the Miami staff was listening in on the Patriots play calling, basically Miami and Saban knew everything that was going to happen.

But why does something Nick Saban and the Dolphins do translate into it being the Patriots?

Just my opinion, this was one of the games where the wiretapping might of backfired for the Patriots and some how the Dolphins ended up with listening to it.

#1 Dolphins held Tom Brady and Pats to 0 pts.

#2 During the Spygate era it seemed too often the Patriots knew what was being called by the opposing side.

#3 All evidence was destroyed by Goodell.

#4 Why is something about Wiretapping coming up now in New Orleans? Does it give credibility that it might exist but not with the Saints?

The Alleged Source For the Saints/Mickey Loomis Spying Story is a Former Sound and Electrical Worker | The Big Lead

Suspect is a previous electrical worker that was fired in 2007 for stealing.

What is the history of this electrical worker?

Is he a local or something?

No clue... Google does wonders though if you are that interested.

Yeah, some zit popper that worked for the Saints got canned and it pissed him off. Then some bottom feeder named Barr (I used to really like that word) somehow came across him and wrote about zit popper's ravings thinking it was a good day to make some more money off the Saint's misfortune. spen went ahead and published without checking into it at all. Oh the journalistic integrity! Proof, of course that "Dumb and Dumber" parts one and two really are documentaries.

and Kenny Wilkerson was the one who gave the ESPN reporter a list of names of people who might have a grudge against the Saints, and cheerfully put them all in touch with each other.
