They can call it whatever on TV for what anyone cares here. Just sayin'.
We're also used to Hollywood portraying "the Sheriff" of New Orleans as someone who sounds like Boss Hog. It's duly ignored.

What I do like is we have the MOST POSH, UPSCALE Stadium naming-right corporate sponsor of any team in the NFL. Funny how after Katrina people laughed at us for saying the team would ever return. Much less if someone even dare "implied" Mercedes-Benz would EVER be the sponsor of the Superdome on a TEN YEAR deal, or the Superdome would ever open again.... they would have been laughed off the television.

I think I would have preferred the "Tony Chachere's Super Dome"

I don't know about you all but, although I am a Superdome buff, I have gotten kinda use to callin it " THE BENZ".

No matter about the sponsors name. It is and will always be the Superdome!

Maybe I just have an aversion to "Benz" or "Beemer", luxary names. We are not a silky britches kind of team. I just think the Mercedes emblem lends a certain cheese to itself.

I would prefer one of the following sponsors:
Hummer Dome
Kobalt Dome
Craftsman Dome
Winchester Dome
Blue Ribbon Dacon Dome
WD-40 Dome
Ducktape Dome
RedJacket Dome
..... "anything manly" Dome

Always referred to it as Superdome (yes, as one word).....

unless I've had a few and begin on my absurd pompous statements regarding the Saints, then it's THE Mercedes Bienz Super Dome...

It's been over two decades since I lived in New Orleans. I think that back then I called it the Dome. I call it the Super Dome now.

I understand you have to have all these bulls&1t corporate naming deals, to
try to keep up with escalating salaries, and the astronomical costs of paying the players, etc, so I wont hate on it. Love him or not, we NEED Benson to be a rich man, and to continue being rich, if you want the Saints to compete.

That said, I wish some things were sacred. I no longer have any clue what stadium is what, with all the crap dumbazz "Bank One"s, and Capital Ones, and
Quest, and corporate garbage. I love how Lambeau is still "Lambeau Field," not Roto Rooter Lambeau Field, or Ex Lax Stadium, or Summers Eve Field.... its Lambeau. As it should be.

Stadiums should be named after dead people, veterans, big sombreros, astros, busch's, and counties. (like Milwaukee, Fulton & - say it like Cosell: "Oookland Alllameeda Coliseummmm.... home of tha Raydas" ) Or candlesticks. This is where legend stuff happens.... not at some douchy corporate named morgue, like Reliant Stadium.

Every time I look at "Reliant" Stadium, I want to puke. It defiles the magnificence and history of the Astrodome, and its stupid. If the Astros played in the Astrodome, people would come, just to see the Dome. The Astros have sucked more than they've been good, and people did exactly that--- and management knew it--- so they sold the whole Astrodomain experience.

Anyway, I've gone on one of my tangents. Its the Superdome to me. You cant make me say the corporate name. My grooms cake did not have a corporate name. It was just the Superdome.
