Just FYI. Bring him in and switch him to DE? I know he was injured, but he is an ex Charger and could at least be worth a look.

Recently released by the Bills , I want him In N.O. Spags can get a fire out of a player like no other defensive coach. I like his play, Former Charger so they already have the connection with Sproles and Brees. This guy is Aging but ain't old so he will want to contend for a superbowl sometime soon. We can provide that luxury. And he would help us a ton either Pass Rush wise or being a Linebacker. Should Vilma Return this season , I like the Idea of Vilma Loton and Merriman as our Linebackers. Thats a Defense !

He would have a lot to prove to me before we stepped out and paid big money for him. His last contract was large. He's been hurt since before leaving San Diego. His Achilles tendon tear is bad enough.

Would he even be able to play??

I'm sure he would , and at this point and stage of his career I think he knows hes not getting a ton of money. If he can stay healthy I see it as a huge bonus ... Every charger that we bring in turns out to be dynamic

Well the Saints could print money off of ex-Chargers, wouldn't hurt to at least bring him in considering the linebackers can't stay healthy all a sudden

he's a ptototypical 3-4 linebacker and has shown to be a weak 4-3 DE. Plus he can't stay healthy, I say pass

Well he was quoted recently as saying he's strictly a 3-4 linebacker and he hates the 4-3. So the bills moving to a 4-3 defense led to his release.

In other words, he wants to rush the passer, but not head to head with an offensive lineman, basically. I do think he could be a good 4-3 linebacker, especially for the saints. He's big, strong and still pretty quick. Why not give it a chance? Take veteran minimum, and come on over Shawne. Who dat!
