If I listened to my Misses one more time about how horrible the officiating was in that game I think im gonna scream. " It's like there scared to make calls" she said. What's supremely funny about this is that she's 100% right. If a females naked eye can see these officials can't call games I wonder what the coaches are saying. Here were some of the gaffs.

- Houstons first possession went for a touchdown, but only after there drive was extended by a horrible pass interference on Scott Shanle.

- Jimmy Graham was mugged by a LB in the end zone, no call.

- illegal touching? Im guessing he ment illegal formation. Wade Phillips was even puzzled.

If you saw anymore that I missed you can put them here, but these were the most noticeable to me.

Every call required a huddle up of some kind causing the game to be extremely long. Ahhhhhhhhhh

At least every team has to deal with them... Almost like we get the bottom of the barrel refs every game though :rolleyes:

I keep blaming the bad calls on the replacement guys and then remember that we get hosed equally by the regulars so not much difference. Anytime I'm at a game and Ed Hochuli walks out as the head referee, I know we're in for a long night.

I forgot where I heard this but it was flippin hilarious. They need to have a monster sized Hochuli poster in every stadium telling the refs to "Do there job"!!

My friend and I thought the refs were going for some sort of record for "Illegal Touching" calls in one game, seriously, I think they called it as much tonight as it was called all last season.

Actually, that was one of the few accurate calls. Jimmy was covered by the wide out when the ball was snapped. He was an ineligible receiver on the play. What I didn't understand was why it wasn't offsetting penalties. They ignored the ineligible receiver call and gave us 15 and a 1st down on a personal foul.

That was so weird... it should have been off setting. What they did was deduct 5 yards for the illegal formation call and then gave only gave us 10 on the personal foul call.

Now over the past few years the refs and stuck and we complained and complained.

Now they really suck, lol.

They can't get the calls right because they aren't using the NFL rule book. These guys still need training before they can be in a game.

I know the normal officials aren't perfect, but these replacement refs are God awful. Every game there seems to be major issues with calls. Your normal official may make a mistake from time to time, but these guys are consistently awful.

Everyone knows I dislike Shanle, but I will say that he played well in this game and the PI on him was crap.

Replacement officials aren't just bad for the Saints they are bad for every team. Just watch a few other games and you'll see the same bad calls.

Right. That's what he said that I didn't understand. I've never seen penalties enforced in that manner at any level from y-ball up to the NFL.

They were beyond awful. I counted 3 questionable pass interference calls and one that was blatant. yea Shanle got away with one too but they were horrible for both teams. i heard one ref say it was 3rd down when it was first down. I would like to think it was just a slip of the tongue but the way these guys were calling plays I wonder. Something has to be done.

Field goal kick where they spotted the ball on one hash, teams lined up, then the refs came running in and moved it to the other hash mark, everybody moved over, then the refs huddled, then they moved it back to the first hash...Saints players were pointing and gesturing and telling them where it should go...it might have even been the one that Hartley missed, but I really can't remember. Come on guys. WHICH HASH DO YOU PUT IT ON. It ain't rocket science. We're not landing on the Moon here. Spot the %^%^ ball and get out the way.

Did everybody see the play where it was suddenly blown dead and Drew threw a laser bullet pass to the Umpire back by the linebackers. THINK FAST! It was awesome. I've never seen that happen before in a real game. I mean it's kind of borderline disrespectful to the refs, if you think about it. Drew really kinda rifled it at him, HARD, almost at game speed, and the dude wasn't really expecting it but he caught it. I loved it.

This thing with the refs and the NFL is a train-wreck. The way the NFL presented the new refs, and also the forced gender issue with the female ref at the same time, is a double disaster.

Yes the players probably don't respect the refs as they've been told NOT to complain about them via coaches who had this info exposed by media outlets.

• Scab refs already sucks
• girl scab refs is FORCED and do we seriously need to go through this right now?
• Goodell getting busted putting out memos to not complain about the refs sealed their fate in the halls of player respect

Isnt that otherwise known as the Ben Rothlisberger rule?

I cant remember what game it was i watched the night before,i think it was either the Seatlle or Arizona but the rusher got on the inside of the guard and the guard wrapped his arm around the rushers neck and pretty much dragged him down causing contact with the QB. These refs called roughing the passer.
The sooner this issue is sorted the better

The officiating last night was deplorable. Beyond the pre-snap shenanigans, the clock gaffes and the pass interference fiascoes, the replace-a-refs tried to let a Houston WR get by with a catch after stepping out of bounds! I dunno what it looked like on TV, but they didn't turn the play over until everyone in the Dome went ape-$#!t ... it was awful, I swear little old ladies in my section were cursing!

And to think I've tried to defend these clowns ... jeez.

What about when Collins was running the ball and got hit and was pushed back for like 5 yds and fumbled. That would have been a decent gain but no forward progress was called. He literally was being driven backward for 4 seconds. Whistle should have been blown.

I really didn't think it would be possible to be worse than the regular refs. Clearly I was wrong.
