Alright, finally got a long look at the home uniforms. Not real impressed. I'm not sure what they're calling the color of the pants, but it sure ain't gold. Maybe we should change the name of the forum to Black&Sorta Gold.com...

As far as color, I think the helmets have a light gold hue.
The old helmets with Addidas unforms had a more old gold color.
The difference is not apparent until you look at old game footage next to new game footage.

The numbers on the Addidas uniforms were brown mustard.
The pants on the Addidas were, as I saw them, the exact same color as the current Nike pants.

The Addidas uniforms mismatched gold (helmet, numbers and pants).
The Nike uniforms use the same gold on helmet, numbers and pants.
The Addidas uniform pants never matched the gold on the helmet etc.

What I do agree with is I wish that gold throughout the Nike uniforms was slightly darker, more old gold.

Exactly! It's wimpy gold! Phil Knight the Nike owner is probably saving all his real gold for Oregon.

I think the gold is too brownish and needs to be more old gold looking. And yeah , the new ND helmets are awful.

I heard that these helmets would only be a one time thing for the game against Navy that takes place in Ireland, but I could be wrong.

In any case, they are hideous.

Frankly, I don't see much of a difference except for one thing that I absolutely hate... Those ridiculous stripes up by the neckline. It looks cartoon-ish.

I stated in live chat during the game the other night that those stripes made me want to watch The Partridge Family. They look like big a$$ butterfly collars. Danny Bonaduce would be proud.

Okay, two more things in this What Not To Wear thread.

We are about one step away from becoming Black&Tan.com (one of my favorite drinks, but....) .

Those ND helmet pictures came from the Party Barn, really hold candy and toy party favor things, and you guys are putting me on.

I hope they really are the ND helmets and they wear them all season because one of my favorite things to do on Saturday is to laugh at that team anyway.

I could live with the collar if it were a real gold color.

And I can't count worth a crap!

Oh yeah, and what's wrong with the Partridge Family? Susan Dey AND Shirley Jones played a huge role in my late night musings during my formative years. THEY could wear those collars anytime! Just sayin'...

The new uni's are pretty bad. I don't like the whole collar (faux neck brace) thing the Saints have on theirs. I won't be replacing any jerseys this year.

I got to say that the Count Dracula collar doesn't look nearly as bad on the black jersey, it just looks ridiculous on the white ones

I hate the collars, which sometimes look ridiculously like suspenders in the individual players photos, when they are not wearing pads.

I hate the way they look on TV and but seeing them in person from a goodly ways away, they really didn't look that much different to me. Shrug emoticon.

Now what I don't like aesthetically more than the uniforms, is those weird new plastic shoes with the ridiculous colors. There were some Panthers guys in the game last night with these ridiculous light blue, almost clear plastic shoes, they looked like something out of a silly low budget 1970s science fiction movie, like Tron or Rollerball.

I never tire of Beano Cook's annual proclamation of Notre Dame's renaissance, only to see them struggle to 6-6 again! I hope they suck forever.

There's no way it would work in an actual game environment, but I did see one of those black-on-black Brees jerseys on somebody when I was jammed into the escalators in the Dome...it looked really sharp!

I'd like to see the Saints play in the golden jerseys at least once a year, I really like the way they look - in limited exposure of course.
