So, while it's in a way sad to see him cut, I'm glad he is going to have the opportunity to fight for a starting job at another team.
Hokie said he was told by the Saints front office that the reason DLP was more valuable to them was because DLP could play all 3 interior spots, while Tennant could only play center.

They weren't diasppointed in his play at Center as much as his lack of being able to play LG or RG.

OK, but I still think that they weren't really all that impressed with him since, if you remember, he was touted as the mantle bearer for Goodwin at the start of last preseason, but he didn't really perform well by the accounts I remember, and then they brought in Kreutz when that became possible after his negotiations with the Bears broke down.

Kreutz couldn't play any other position than center, and one could argue against that statement as well, but they were happy enough to give Kreutz the nod as the starting center over Tennant - to me that says something.

But, the versatility point does make a lot of sense when roster spots are at a premium.

You have to multi task now a days. You just can't play center you have to play the whole line.
