Saints report: WR Lance Moore poised for bigger role
METAIRIE, La.—Expect receiver Lance Moore to be an even bigger part of the New Orleans Saints' offense now that Robert Meachem is gone.
Moore is having another terrific preseason, catching everything thrown his way—whether through traffic or over the top. And he has traditionally always stepped into a bigger role whenever another receiver has gone down. Back in 2008, when top receiver Marques Colston was battling injuries, Moore caught 79 passes for 928 yards and 10 touchdowns. Then over the past two years, even with all four of the Saints’ top receivers healthy and tight end Jimmy Graham and running back Darren Sproles emerging in the passing game, Moore still caught eight touchdown passes in both 2011 and 2012. I'm sure he will be up to the challenge. Lance is one of my favorite players b/c he catches virtually everything Drew throws his way.

Another great practice squad player that's been coached up.

I remember moore's first TD, a 10 yard wide receiver reverse vs the Seahawks in 07, I can remember thinking lance who? He just scored?
5 years later, he's one of my favourite players, up there with drew and PT23 Another steal that came from nowhere, waived by the browns and we got one of the best players on our team from the practice squad |

I wonder if he's gonna play more outside or stay in the slot.

This guy is a stud, an totally underrated in the league. I feel like most people who don't watch the Saints a lot think of him as a typical slot receiver, but that's not true. He's so good that the Saints line him up on the outside a lot... in fact, Colston plays inside more than Lance does. He runs great routes, catches everything thrown his way, and is always energetic. Great Saint player.
