Re: Marques Colston
I like Joe Morgan but he looked like he should still be on the practice squad. He played scary.

Re: Marques Colston
I obviously cursed his name when it happened because we were in such a bad spot anyway
Least he was bothered about it, which will make him extra cautious that it doesn't happen again I would be more worried if he was laughing on the sideline directly after but he wasn't he looked p***ed off like most of us were Just face it, not one of our players had did anything to be proud of Sunday Let's move on to the panthers |

From CSC Joe Morgan: F (0.00) I hate to fail a guy on the first grading of the season, but Morgan did nothing that could remotely be seen as positive. It's rare I give out A+'s or F's but this one called for it. Morgan had three balls thrown his way. The first was a sideline pass that was low and wide and while it would have been an incredible catch, we can't expect him to come up with that. He then dropped a pass right in his breadbasket 15 yards down the seam, and he dropped a touchdown pass from Brees where he had to go up against a defender to contend for the ball in the air. A receiver with decent hands makes that catch, Joe Morgan does not. He ran poor routes, had stone hands, and couldn't create separation. Hopefully he'll improve next week, but in this game he looked lost and far from an NFL caliber receiver. The kid got his chance with numerous reps and laid an egg. He just didn't show up. |
Re: Marques Colston
What are you guys talking about. Somebody please explain this to me. I have read these same comments all over different threads. HE WAS THROWN 2 PASS's...how do you come to a conclusion that he is not ready? Hell..Moore dropped the first 3 pass's thrown to him. He turned it around thankfully. Colston was targeted 11 times and caught 4 balls..had a COSTLY fumble but Morgan gets thrown 2 pass's and he needs to be back on the practice squad? Somebody break it down for me.
i'm going to be honest with u c-mike, morgan has been impressive in preseasons going against 2nd and 3rd string pros, but he's not a seasoned vet. and was dropping balls to in those games also. so him dropping a couple sunday was not a supprize. i really did'nt mean PS, just a little softer route, it will be okay man. he does need to get his hans dirty on the field and not the P.S. |
Re: Marques Colston
I kinda suspect that they may have been throwing those balls specifically to Joe Morgan late in the game, because the coaches already knew the game was pretty much lost, just to get him some experience and game time. Like St. Thomas said, to get his hands dirty on the field. I'd much rather have him miss them now, during garbage time in an obvious losing effort. Get him some reps. And then hopefully he gets it right later on, if he's ever needed in a game that can still actually be won.

We were driving late with a chance to tie the game! I think they were throwing it to him because there's no film of the guy to study, other than pre-season. Colston wasn't doing sh!t, Devery was out, Moore and Graham were the only ones catching anything, what other receiver did we have to put in?? Other than Courtney Roby of course, and why he wasn't in there instead of Morgan is anybody's guess. I just can't believe "the coaches already knew the game was pretty much lost." We've mounted late comeback drives too many times for that |
