No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Oh, yeah, right. Cause its Drew. That would be sacriligous to blame him for anything, right?
Well, im not a poosy. Ya'll can shame me to hell if you want, but, he looked like crap, today, too. Sure, his protection in the pocket was shoddy all day, but, man. He made some horrible passes today and just couldnt seem to find open recievers. He completed what, 45% of his passes? I know Drew can do no wrong. I love the guy. I named my daughter after him, but, he's gotta shoulder a lot of the blame today. |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Drew bares responsibility in this game. BIG contract, pitifull game!
|
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
So you're putting all the blame on Drew? c'mon man, got to give Haslett and the Redskins D some credit...
They came out with a plan and executed almost flawlessly... And last time I checked, there is more than 1 on offense. We had like 100 drops... |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
The whole team looked out of sync.

They became a one headed monster, and tried to let drew justify that big money. They had 4 running backs in the game and got away from what made the so great, swing passes, screens and pounding the ball so it would open the field up for drew to pick them apart.

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Drew was definitely one of the many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many. many, many things that stunk in todays game. I don't have enough fingers to point at all of them.
|
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
I haven't listened to any of the post-game pressers yet, but I would definitely put the blame on Drew if he got up there at the podium and didn't put the blame on himself for today -- but I kind of think he already does, and doesn't need me to tell him. Look -- if that horrible interception was instead a miraculous completion, and that drive led down the field to a touchdown, and then a 2 point conversion to Jimmy Graham, and then the Saints pulled it out in overtime or the final two minutes, you'd probably be hooting and hollering from the rooftops about Drew Brees right about now. It's football. Not every day is going to be your day.

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Drew looked bad today, no doubt.
That said, I put a he'll of a lot more of the blame for our offensive problems on Carmichael. Drew has a big weakness and it's that he will sometimes try to do way too much. Carmichael and Kromer, I guess, should have reeled him in with some running plays and keeping the game plan a bit more balanced. The INTs were at least partially because we were soooooo predictable. |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
it wasnt just that pass, though, saintsbro. he didnt connect on half his passes. yes, ive said many times already, much of this is because he had no time in the pocket on most downs. but, there were lots of throws he either missed on or threw into tight, tight coverage.
we've seen this before. its not like hes never had a bad game before. remember the game in tampa where he threw 4 ints? he's not perfect. |
Drew get blame for two interceptions, and two batted balls.
The WR corps gets credit for at least 15 in the hands dropped balls. Three changes would make this a win. 1. Drews first interception. 2. Colston and Morgan each catch 4 balls that hit them in the hands. 3. Refs knew what pass interference was.... |

I guess that is what the team gets when their "leader" doesn't sign his tender and report to OTA's

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
No, no one is giving him a pass. Misread routes. No one was there to catch the ball or was off by some distance.
He was way off today. Too much, too late and the clock ran out today. He missed the mini-camp while dealing with contract issues. Could that be a reason for his rustiness? I sure hope not. Training camp is over. Too late to make training camp now. We are Saints fans, still. Still, this current team has some wins. We can also say, we know, Brees will regroup himself and team. They came back today, then lost it on their own and his mishaps too. Much to practice on and film to review for this week. |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Dew and oline sucked. But we sucked on all fronts of the game
|
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
How do you only run the ball 10 times?
I thought Sean Payton was at home. That has a whole lot to do with the passing efficiency. How do you throw the ball 52 times? Drew is MOST efficient when there is at least a threat of balance. Our running attack was somewhere around 2 carries per quarter. Drew only gets his FAIR share of the blame, and there was plenty to go around. |
The TEAM looked like crap 2day! Drew's passes for the bin, the receivers seemed like having vaseline on their gloves, defense was not existing. F****d up season opener, but we will go to the play offs. Trust me...
Somewhere over the rainbow! |

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
The offense stunk but almost pulled out a win.
a couple of hand grenades or horses hitting a bit closer we could have pulled the game out of our .... no one player is to blame. this was a unit failure. if i was to point a finger it would be the OTs but they would not be alone. like i said the unit as a whole did everything to give the skins a blow out. |

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Colston fumbled in last year's opener and we lost that one by 8 also.
We have 5 RB's and we ran 10 running plays. Our screens are why we're famous and they were nonexistent. At what point did we decide to revamp the most effective offense the league has ever seen? (See; Drew Brees passing record) Ingram had better start earning his money. His Heisman is made of paper. We over-utilized Graham and under-utilized Lance until it was too late. I miss Robert Meachem. We scored a special teams touchdown and still lost. Who does that? Lofton is the future of the Saints LB corps. No doubt. O-Line... Let's see, where to we start? LOL Didn't we have an O-Lineman in the Pro Bowl last year? Where'd he go? I want to love Roman Harper, but REALLY, isn't he the same Roman Harper who was run down by a rookie QB and has he improved since Seattle? NO. The only one who DID his JOB was number 5. I still won't say his name, sorry. Drew is now worth 100 mil and now throws for 40-something percent completions? Jus' sayin... Maybe if he would have attended more of training camp? Maybe? Props to RGIII. Wow. Composure under pressure. I'm a SORE loser. No hiding that. Flame away. I'm a big boy. :crying: Alaska |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Well...............luckily we play football next weekend.
|
Brees means so much to this team that I just can't bring myself to berate him for anything. Its sort of a non starter for me. What would you do - replace him with chase for the rest of the season?

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
its p-u-s-s-y.
Drew actually threw 3 INTs, but the Redskins dropped 2 of them. Not that he had any protection either. Not that his receivers could catch everything. Not that we could remember a snap count. Not that the defense did a damn thing when it counted. Not that we could count on special teams. Not that the crowd was particularly into it, or even bothered to stay, even though it was winnable up to nearly the last minute. Drew sucked. The team sucked. Refs sucked. Coaches sucked. You sucked. I sucked. lets do better next time. admire your willingness to express. mikey |
Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Drew had a below average Drew game! Period...dont need to rehash why.

Re: No ones going to point a finger at Drew, huh?
Pretty sure no QB could have got into a rhythm with the absent protection he had all day. Drew had no running game support, no protection, and alot of dropped balls. He had some bad passes, very true, but like someone said earlier in this thread, he's pissed, and you gotta love a pissed off Drew heading into a divisional game.
