The New Orleans Saints were defeated by the Washington Redskins, 40-32, on Sunday in both team’s first regular season contest of 2012 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The loss comes after the Saints earned an 8-0 record at home in the 2011 regular season.
The Black-and-Gold fell short of a fourth quarter comeback as QB Drew Brees was intercepted on a hail mary pass in the endzone as time expired. “Our fans deserve more than what we gave them today,” said Offensive Line/Running Game coach Aaron Kromer. “We didn’t play well enough to win. We need to play better this week.” Brees completed 24-of-52 passes for a total of 339 yards through the air. He connected on three touchdown passes and threw two interceptions. Full article.
