Saints 0-1, Packers 0-1.............

Saints 0-1
Packers 0-1
Steelers 0-1
Giants 0-1

Lions nearly lost, Eagles had a scare in Cleveland.

I say this has been a very odd week of football.

Cowboys 1-0 and looked good. Falcons 1-0 and looked good. 49ers 1-0 with an improved offense. Lions 1-0 and Eagles 1-0 stunk but still managed to win. Chicago 1-0 and looked balanced. Bucs 1-0 and played close to their talent. Ten teams in the NFC are 1-0. Six playoff spots. Saints allowed 40 yesterday.

Re: Saints 0-1, Packers 0-1.............

Only difference between us and the packers is;

The packers lost to a team that most people pick as Super Bowl favourites

We lost to a rookie and our record setting offense made it look like we had Ryan leaf under centre

I hope this is not a trend, I understand we have bad games but looking like that on the season opener Infront of our crowd was embarrassing

Normally our defense sucked but our offense made up for it, if our offense is on its way out we are in trouble because our D won't stop anyone

Plus we are very thin at WR now

Re: Saints 0-1, Packers 0-1.............

Atlanta can look good at times, no surprise there, as long as we own our division it won't matter.
San Fran is the only other NFC team that worries me, they did look improved offensively and their D is the real deal. With their division we will have to deal with them in the post-season. I think we can beat them but hopefully it will be in the dome.

yea they all played good teams. Whats worse about the Packers is they got beat by SF. Hope its not a sign they are better than last year.

Yep. Teams lose games. I am really not worried about the rest. We lost. But in our loss we KNOW we coulda won. So that is probably the most comforting news.

Yes, but the Saints are 0-1............while our nemesis Atlanta won their first game.
Without Sean Payton we are going to need home field advantage, and we are fighting our way out of a hole already.

SanFran looked scary good in that one ... on both sides of the ball.

Unfortunately, have to totally agree there. Of course, Green Bay seemed pretty off also.

If we beat them twice then Atlanta winning the opening game won't matter.
Everybody.... there's a TON of football left to be played.

Just sayin'

Definitely, a division win this weekend will help settle everyone down. Win the division first and worry about the homefield advantage second. Home field is just huge this year for us. Not a deal breaker if we don't get the #1 seed, just a plus. Everyone is blowing it up and venting today, and that's OK for a Monday. Even the "experts" (LOL) are shocked after this game. Let the negative threads end today and let's start getting ready for the Panthers tomorrow.

Odd week indeed & I think you highlighted four of the oddest right there. Some quick thoughts:

Packers/Forty-Niners: It's odd for the Pack to lose at home (I suppose), but the Niners are the real-deal, gentlemen.

Steelers/Broncos: I was a little surprised here, last season's #1 defense in Pittsburgh up against one of the worst offensive lines of last year in Denver. Manning looked far better then I thought he would. Gonna' have to reevaluate the Broncos.

Giants/Cowboys: Romo won't be able to sustain it for the entire season, and he didn't have that great a game anyway. Cruz must have dropped more balls in this one then he did the entire last season, eh?

Saints/Redskins: RGIII ... the kid's a baller ... I was expecting him to be a little more nervous in his NFL debut. Saints secondary did not look good.

Lions/Rams: Former New Orleans practice squad player, running back Joquie Bell (#35), scores Detroit's first TD of the 2012 season ... Lions secondary did not look good as well, Stafford w/three picks in first half ... on the up side, Detroit dramatically cut down on the penalties/mental mistakes and the run game looked decent for a change.

Eagles/Browns: Ok, so Philly won ... it was neither impressive or good ... why the 'experts' are so high on Philadelphia every year, IDK.

Some of the sluggishness/miscues of the first week (ie ... Packers, Saints, Giants, Lions, Eagles), I attribute to the level of intensity, or lack of, in training camps nowadays. It'll take a few more weeks of full-speed football for these guys to get back into the tempo.

For now, opposing NFC North, South and East fans should just enjoy the Packers, Saints & Giants being listed at the bottom of their divisions ... they won't be there for long ... although the Giants do seem to have their work cut out for them now with Washington & Dallas.

Some of you put a little too much value on "last year", "picked to win", "better team".

All of the same talking heads you do not listen to when they rank the Saints 15th in the power rankings all of a sudden become validated when it helps your conspiracy theory?

Yes, losing the opener is very disappointing...after our offense scored 77 points in the playoffs last year, it's a bit of a let down for us.

LOL, it's not even insulting since our D game still was almost enough to beat your "perfect" game.
We give RG3 credit, he is a great pick for you guys and looks like worth everything you gave up to get him, good for you.
I'm still pretty sure you don't want to see us again, especially if you make it to the playoffs.
Anyway, enjoy it, it was a big win for you.

Funny how Falcons fans start to appear now because they beat the chiefs, ha!

Oh, funny, my bad, I thought he was another pop-up Redskin. Can't keep all these other team trolls straight.

There should always be concern when you loose a game you are expected to win & should have won especially at home. You know what coaches say about the day after a game? They say take that day to celebrate or sulk, in our case, then start preparing for the next game. As fans we need to do the same thing. Get ready to watch & cheer for our team's next game. It's only the next game that can keep us from thinking about the last game.

All this analysis. It's only week one!!

Guys, I'm pretty sure that almost every week 50% of the teams in the NFL lose.

Just sayin'

Re: Saints 0-1, Packers 0-1.............

Sometimes the most annoying thing about Falcons fans is that the Saints are living permanently rent-free inside the Falcon fans' heads, and they have to come sniffing around to look for some kind of legitimacy for themselves, every time the Saints lose a game. Because they always define themselves in terms of the Saints' performance, trying to be noticed. It's like a pesky little kid brother looking for legitimacy and approval, or LOOK AT ME, can I be a big boy too????? And the teenage older brother (the Saints) is always like pffffft whatever kid. And the kid brother never realizes how comical he looks.

Of course when the Saints win and the Falcons lose, the positively last thing on earth I would ever dream of doing, is to run immediately to the Falcons board, and ask them what they think about their chances next week, or did they by any chance happen to watch OUR game, don't you think we look a tiny little bit legit to you, don't we look good? It just doesn't work that way for Saints fans.

The only thing about this is that the 49ers are for real and the Skins are for play.
