Interesting choice of words...
I was watching an interview w/ Goodell on NFL Network this evening, and the topic of the upcoming Bounty meeting w/ the 4 suspended players came up. Not sure the exact question that was asked, but it was something to the effect of "what do you hope to accomplish w/ the upcoming meeting w/ the players involved in the Bounty situation." I found Goodell's response interesting. His exact words were "Our goal is to find out the truth."
Now, correct me if I'm wrong here. I thought Goodell had mountains of evidence already proving what happened. If so, how could his goal be to find out the truth? Doesn't he already know the truth? I don't know, I guess it's neither here nor there. I just found it curious, and if you ask me he just proved he's been lying. |

Re: Interesting choice of words...
With all the concussion lawsuits, he went a little overboard on the penalties... I think he realizes this and I bet he wishes he had suspended Harper for the year instead of Vilma :roflmao:

Re: Interesting choice of words...
WHY COULDN'T HE JUST SUSPENDED SHANLE?

Re: Interesting choice of words...
That struck me as odd too.
Love how he said that he is interested in seeing any evidence that THE PLAYERS want to present.......... 50,000 documents Rog, 50,000? |
Re: Interesting choice of words...
I just hope when all this is said and done and everyone realizes that nothing "illegal" went on that they all shake hands and we can have our team back our draft pick back our cash that was taken from us and also our coach.

More PR Bull**** from the horse's behind.
Knows he has to appear unbiased or the judge may throw out any decision made about the situation. Anything the players say during any meeting will be used to "prove his point", the same way Fujita's comments after the suspensions were handed out were used as evidence against the players. |

Does anyone bellieve the owners may be ordering him to find a way out at this point. From a PR standpoint he's losing grip and the players are getting closer and closer to pulling him completely over the line. Making a truce to lessen the suspenions would be an admission he made errors but would also make him appear human. The Saints made mistakes without question but so did the NFL and that is the real truth. I think everyone could accept that outcome.
