I saw in that Philly article they claimed he was averaging 105 tackles a season? When was this? I don't remember him ever having that many tackles any of the years he played for Detroit. Tackles & assists combined, maybe. He's just not that good. I think he's a gamble for the Saints. The change in environment, Spags and the atmosphere in New Orleans may do him some good and revive his career a bit, but he only averages something like 3-4 tackles a game and don't necessarily know if he'd be an improvement over what the Saints have now. |

He never lived up to his potential

Athletic guy. Remember him at FSU saying that the reason he liked playing football is that he could try to kill people, legally.

Re: Saints work out WLB Ernie Simms
Lets keep something in mind when it comes to "Living up to potential"....
Some players do not live up to their potential until they find a team that they are a "good fit" with. How many Saints players went to other teams and flourished and vice versa? Sproles was not flourishing at SD, neither was Brees. Some players do not flourish in college but become hall of famers in the NFL. Potential has to be unlocked. |

Kick the tires and watch the film. Then pull the trigger if Spags thinks that he can turn the corner.
