That PI call on Harper is disgusting
He's had his fair share on PI calls, but the first time he plays excellent coverage they mess it up |

Game momentum changing bad calls are another. And lastly WRONG calls are devastating. These college refs cant seem to get it through their thick inexperienced skulls that contact does not equate to pass interference. We have been screwed by at least 4-5 WRONG calls for pass interference in the preseason and week 1 of the regular season. |

Didn't know about the placement error-- unbelievable. Basically a bad call plus a bad spot on the same play.
Yes, when call results in a turnover you do blame the refs. No telling what could have happened. |

I was at the game, and can't find a 'highlight', so plz answer if you can. Was the hit on Henderson legal? He looked on replay like he was down, or pretty close to it, plus it was a blow to the head. Anyone know?

Re: Here Are The 21 Worst Replacement Referee Mistakes From Sunday
It's not b****ing about the refs to say that Jake Locker is injured now, because they missed an obvious call that should have been blown dead. That is pretty darn serious problem if you ask me.
I forget who it was, but in our game there were at least TWO non-whistles, where the forward progress of the Saints runner/receiver had been stopped, he was upright and wrapped up, no whistle, and Redskins players were twisting the guy around and punching at the ball and trying to bend his knees the wrong way. That kind of "lazy" whistle, is eventually going to (a) get somebody hurt and (b) result in fumbles and changes of possession that are not really fumbles, for whatever team it happens to, not just the Saints. A lot of injuries happen when there is that scrum, the pile is actually upright and stationary, and then if there is no whistle, that one outside defensive player (usually a defensive secondary guy) runs flying in at full speed and hurtles his body in there, hitting the pile and twisting people of both teams. That's not b***ching about the refs to point out that it is dangerous and unnecessary. |

As much as I hate the zebras I hate these guys more. If only because I want Der Kommisar to come across badly.

The Garcon TD play should of had a holding or illegal contact penalty as well since Harper was held enough to be prevented from making a play on Garcon, that is what led to that long TD. |

I think it was during one of the preseaon games that the broadcasting team stated that the officiating crews (regular referees) got together sometime during this past year or two and discussed this exact situation and what to do in it. They apparently came to the conclusion that they were consistently blowing the play over too quickly, and that is why they decided that they would in the future give more time for the scrum to develop before blowing the play dead (the forward progress), so that more plays could be made by players in those type of situations - both offensively and defensively. So, with that in mind, I can't really fault the replacement refs for following that same guideline set by the regular referees. |
