The Saints’ offense is missing Robert Meachum
Its only been one game!!
The New Orleans Saints had one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL led by Drew Brees over the last six seasons and the Saints lost key players over the course of those seasons like Reggie Bush and found replacements for Bush with Darren Sproles for example, but the loss of Robert Meachum this past offseason, showed against the Redskins and possibly will lead the Saints out of sync in the future as well. Robert Meachum was possibly one of the major pieces to the Saints offense being as good as they were for the last couple seasons, because Meachum as the third wide receiver spot was a mismatch on almost every play. Meachum is a wide receiver that can be a number 2 or 1 on another team and that is also why he signed with the San Diego Chargers this season. Meachum brought to the Saints, that wide receiver, who would get open when everyone else was covered down the field and now that he is lost, the Saints are not finding viable replacements for his play. The Saints have Lance Moore trying to fill that void, but his stats on Sunday, don’t matchup with the reality the Saints face. The Saints? offense is missing Robert Meachum |

Drops are the problem, not Meachem's absence, and I'm a big Meachem fan.

Meachump. That's what I thought of him in his first couple of years. I miss him now though.

What do they mean Lance Moore's stats don't matchup? 6 catches 120 yds and a TD. Must be Falcon math or something. Stop dropping passes and we'll be fine.

When Marques Colston drops multiple passes and fumbles the winning reception you know you're in trouble. There's no denying that we're a better team with Meachem than without him but I don't think it's making that much of a difference. If Morgan can hang on to the ball a little better we'll hardly notice that Meech is gone. I really like the receiver Meachem has become and wish we still had him but we'll be just fine with who we have. (Camarillo looks like solid pro. Glad we re-signed him.)
