Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
1 Attachment(s)
The Saints aren’t going to be a disaster in 2012 because Drew Brees will probably be perfect four to six times. But as currently built, this Saints team is a seven win team. Max.
I understand you don’t want to admit a team that has won 37 games the last three years is going to be lucky to go 8-8 but you’ll understand when they are tied at 31 in the fourth quarter next Sunday with maybe the NFL’s worst team, the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s not even October and the bounties, suspensions, awful defense, and interim coaches already have me exhausted. Watching ex-Saints Tracy Porter and Reggie Bush look fantastic just adds to my sinking feeling about this season. The nightmare that is 2012 is just getting started. The world is ending Ralph Malbrough is driving the poop bus, who's riding on his bus? |

Who the hell is this Ralph Malbrough guy?

Well from what I have seen I wouldn't say they have proved anything to show us otherwise. I still think we can squeak into the playoffs though.

I want to win the Super Bowl, if we have a low win season we get a good draft pick |

Reggie Bush, hahahahahahahahaha, that is officially hitting bottom if that's getting thrown out there. Thread DENIED.

Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
You know, I have no problem with articles like this. It just shows who the band-wagoners are and who is willing to be patient and wait for the ship to right itself. If this guy wants to give up, fine, go ahead and give up.
But when this group is able to find their focus and play their game again, he better stay away, and not start writing articles about how he knew it the whole time. We have a roster full of talented people (mostly on offense, unfortunately) and we have a new, smart defensive coordinator that, I believe, will figure out a way to field a marginally competent squad with the tools he has. He wouldn't have been around in the 'Not For Long' if he was a cold-blooded idiot. More importantly, he wouldn't have taken the gig in the first place if he didn't think there was any chance of succeeding. |
Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
I'm finding it difficult to disagree with what he's saying. Y'all may not like it - hell I don't like it - but we suck right now and that's just accurate.

Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
Sometimes when you are willing to accept what is "right now", it makes you a bandwagoner. WTFE!! He is speaking the truth. It is what it is. If we continue like this, it is what will happen.
I am still optimistic but I am not going to bash somebody because he is speaking the truth. I still have faith that we can turn it around and finish respectable. |
Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
I know its just a matter of time for us to get this thing together... but will it be too late.... the wild card spots will have a pretty good record, so winning the division will be our best shot... Wow, I'm sounding like the forty-niners from a few years ago... (NOT GOOD) .... Im not giving up..... Just a lil concerned and pissed off at the same time....

Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
As bleak as things seem to be right now, he's essentially throwing in the towel after two games.
I don't care if some of those things make sense... it's been two games. That's ridiculous. If you're going to call it a season after two games, you're better off being a Falcons fan. |

He's making plenty of realistic points... I don't have an issue with that. Calling it a season is a whole different story.

Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
... when they go 0-16, shoot me a PM (Mr. Marbrough). Yeah, the Saints have had more then their fair share of ups & downs, but you haven't truly 'lived' until your team loses 'em all,.
I'm still in the frame of mind that it's not Kansas City 0-2, Cleveland Browns 0-2, Jacksonville Jaguars 0-2, or even Oakland Raiders 0-2 ... there's still light at the end of that tunnel for New Orleans ... just imagine if you were 0-2 and had wasted a first round pick to have Brandon Weeden taking snaps for ya' ... there's some fans that should be singing the blues, ... the NFL is a funny place; the Cardinals are 2-0, the Jets are atop their division, the Eagles have won 'ugly' two weeks in a row by one point, St. Louis beat Washington, NE loses on a last-minute 'wide left' field goal attempt (I think Gostkowski even missed the nets!) ... it's 'bizzaro' world, that's for sure. Don't dwell on the losses (Mr. Marbrough), just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get ready for next week ... you'll live longer, eh? |

Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special - direct quote from title of article The Saints could still having a winning season, still make the playoffs, and maybe even still win the Super Bowl and I could write that novel I’ve been thinking about or win an academy award, or run a triathlon. NOT HAPPENING. - another direct quote, typo included (apparently so ready to bash he didn't have time to proofread) ^ ^ ^ ^ THAT IS YOUR TRUTH??? ^ ^ ^ ^ Yikes. That is about the furthest thing from optimism I can conceive |
Re: Forecast: 2012 Saints aren’t going anywhere special
I think the thing that bothers most of us the most, is the lack of passion, the lack of integrity, the lack of pride and the lack of anger. This team is playing timid and that'll get you beat every week.

This disturbed me:
The Saints haven’t had an interception from a starting safety in 20 games. Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper are what they are and to expect anything different over the next 14 weeks would mean you are lying to yourself. |

I'm just frustrated. Hey, at least we can both agree on your avatar! That pretty much sums up my feelings exactly. |
