Week 1
Tiki Barber is gone. Michael Strahan might join him. This is a team that's clearly in transition, which would be a perfect time for Eli Manning to step up and truly become this club's leader.

Week 2
If Eli Manning is indeed out a month with a shoulder injury, then the Giants will need to rely on Jared Lorenzen, the 285-pound QB from Kentucky. This is one Jared who evidently has NEVER eaten at Subway

Week 3
The Giants are 0-2 for the first time since 1996, the last year that Dan Reeves coached the team. And the 80 points given up in the first two games is the most allowed since the first two games of 1966. Tom Coughlin says his team is embarrassed. Indeed.

Week 4
Not that we're making excuses for the Giants, but maybe they're not as bad as their 1-2 record might indicate. After all, their first three opponents are a combined 8-1 this season (the one loss being the one the Giants handed the Redskins).

Week 5
One of the quirky things about the Giants' 12 sacks against the Eagles is that Michael Strahan had only one. But that one allowed him to surpass Lawrence Taylor as the team's career sack king.
