They did want to keep him. The fans were saying how important he was to keep right up until they lost him, then they started claiming he sucks.

From what I've been seeing of Lofton IMO I'm not that impressed I just watched Peyton Hillis run up the middle on us and he was off to the side and this is not the 1st time
