New Orleans Saints rookie CB Corey White knows he is a targeted man
 

The way New Orleans Saints interim coach Aaron Kromer sees it, rookie cornerback Corey White is getting on the job training.

Having been pressed into duty because of his solid training camp performance and injuries to starting cornerback Jabari Greer and nickel back Johnny Patrick, White has had to play a majority of the snaps in the Saints' two games to start the season.

The results haven't been all that pretty.

Don't put him up against dwayne bowe, that's jabari's guy

amazing that after all of the DB draft picks and signings we've had in the past 4 years that a rookie fifth round pick is playing this much

True, but we had injuries to Greer, Robinson, Patrick, and Johnson (who was likely our 3rd CB).

I'm guessing we wanted to bring him along quite a bit slower than he's being forced to now.

I do like that he's shown flashes and made some great plays. Right now he's on the bottom of that NFL learning curve, and obviously it shows.

I think we're now back to 100% so he may move back to his normal dime back role.

I said that he was getting abused in the Panthers game and being targeted. All of a sudden, and I can't remember who, but someone tried to correct me like I was seeing things. I give him a break being a rookie and a 5th round choice (5th round, right? ). Doesn't change the fact that he has some growing to do. The experience can only help as time goes on though. Teams are definitely going after the poor kid. He'll improve, I think.

It sucks to see him out there getting messed around, but I remember well that Tracy Porter has his "Welcome to the NFL" moment against the Redskins, getting burned on a game-losing TD to Santana Moss in 2008. I was convinced on Monday that he'd never amount to anything! And I'm pretty sure Greer had one or two of them as well (although thankfully, he wasn't here) and some people say he's arguably our best player on the team right now. This whole **** situation sucks worse than Corey White does.

It was the guy's second game. He is supposed to be on ST and playing a little dime, not starting.

There was one play in the panties game where White got burned, and then on the very next play he ran right into the back field and made a nice tackle for either a loss/no gain.

Looks like he has some nice potential, but sucks for him that he had to get thrown into the deep end to learn to swim

Dude is in a tough position - I have no hate for the guy. Wish we had more out of the other members of our secondary.

Our Problems are not a CB they are at FS and SS. When people start seeing that then the problems will be fixed. If Darren Sharper would have never signed with the Saints in 2009 we would have never won that SUPER BOWL! NO WAY NO HOW!! We need to get a play making FS!!
