Even if you're "Old School," you might want to see this as well.

You cannot appreciate how far this franchise has come UNLESS you are aware of the pain of the past. Many of us have followed the Saints since it first game in 1967. But as time goes on, it's obvious that fewer & fewer of the older fans are still around. My dad died at age 56, and never got to see the Saints make the playoffs (he passed in '84). But mom lived long enough for the Saints to win SB XLIV (...she passed away 1 week later).

Anyway, if you have only heard bits & pieces of the Saints' history, take a look at these video clips. WWL did a good job, and I think you'll appreciate it. And if your kids & grandkids are also Saints' fans, when you have the time... have them view it as well.

The video goes over the troubled past (of the "Aints"), and takes you to the point where the Saints FINALLY made the playoffs in 1987.

I believe Stealth's post was aimed at folks like my son and my ex-wife.

Folks who came along after the "Aints" time.

If some more recent Who Dats believe that the "sky is falling" and how are we playing so badly? This is meant to provide some perspective as to how bad it was vs how spoiled we have become.

My man, that was a great view, I watched all 6. Great memories of the 87 season, that was a very special time indeed! I remember back in those days that everyone was so geeked on the Saints that even when the Vikings blew out the Saints in the playoffs, the Dome crowd was singing Who Dat after the game was over. (No I wasn't there, but seen it on TV).

At that time it was top of the world, and with many great things to come. Took another 13 seasons before winning a playoff game, like, yuck. Never seen that one back in the day, hell, we all thought dynasty about to hit, ya know... LMAO

I've been a Saints fan for 16 years, does that count? I remember going to games with my dad and asking him if the people with bags that say Aint's were fans of the other team, and why wouldn't they want people to know that they were fans even if the team was bad.
The whole paper bag thing still confuses me.
