Lucky to be in the game?

We were leading 24-6 late in the 3rd quarter.

* We need Sean Payton. Joe Vitt would be a big step in the right direction.

* Our defense is not used to the DRAMATIC difference in styles (3G & Spags).

* No excuse (2 weeks in a row) for the Saints to NOT "POUND THE ROCK!"

* Time to get some Cadet time; let Ingram ride the pine (IMO).

Time to man up, folks!

They did not "quit". It is frustration... Our 2012 players, like some of the fans we have garnered since 2009 do not remember the feeling of frustration of nothing working.

Try and look at it from a players perspective. They have gone from being champions and being known as one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history to not being able to put more than 300 yards. What did the players do to cause that? Absolutely nothing. As far as the defense, they have not been very strong consistently for a very long time, one of the commentators in the game said something that is very true... In the last 4-5 years all of the emphasis has been put on the offense to outscore and make up for our lack of defense, now that the offense is out of sync the spot light is on the defense and they are not used to that.

Frustration and confusion takes its toll mentally and physically, I did not see anyone quit, what they tried and did just didn't work.

I'm sorry, but I don't buy any of that. The players have nothing to do with the fact that they can't play well anymore? Then who did cause it? I'm sick of hearing the excuses from everyone. It seems almost like people worship this team instead of root for them. I love the Saints, and by the way, I've been a fan for as long as my memory goes back, but I'm not going to accept a lack of effort. In your opinion, it is not a lack of effort, but in my opinion, consistent lack of execution and lack of effort go hand in hand.

I see poor body language, dropped passes, missed tackles, missed assignments, and numerous penalties. The officiating was horrible yesterday, but regardless of how those calls may effect the outcome they have nothing to do with the horrible play by the Saints. To say that they are frustrated by not being able to put up 300 yards is the worst excuse I've heard yet. If they would pull their collective heads out of their butts and play with some enthusiasm and concentration they would not be so frustrated by game's end.

And lastly, regarding the defense, I have been complaining about them for years, so it's not as if I'm being inconsistent in my criticism of their play. You think I, or anyone for that matter, haven't noticed how bad that unit has been for so long? I don't much care if the defense isn't used to the spotlight... They are supposed to be professionals, so they had better get used to it, don't you think?
