ok new DC and all taken into account is, I hope, the main factor here and not that saints have a absolutely no real talent to work with. that i doubt. so lets see if time is the answer for the saints.

Back after the Chiefs game, I dug up some old individual game/season stats and compared the stats on the Saints defense, versus some of the defenses on the famous perceived "worst" teams in history at the first few games of their seasons -- the 2008 0-16 Lions, 0-14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 1-13 Saints of 1980-ish....too small of a sample size or games to be valid, and different eras, I know, but JUST FOR FUN...and man we are bad.

Winless Tampa Bay in 1976 actually had a better statistical defense than us. They got way more turnovers, LOL. We are historically bad.
