Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
METAIRIE, La. – Saints tight end Jimmy Graham spent part of his Monday going through a medical checkup to determine the severity of an ankle sprain, interim coach Aaron Kromer said.
“We really don’t know of his progress right now,” Kromer said early Monday. Additionally, cornerback Jabari Greer was going through testing after re-aggravating the groin injury that forced him to miss nearly all of training camp and the season opener after having sports hernia surgery. Greer didn’t play in the second half and played only 23 of the team’s 65 defensive snaps. But Kromer is optimistic about his return after the bye week. “It looks good, so hopefully he’s ready for Tampa Bay (in two weeks),” Kromer said. Graham, meanwhile, was announced in the press box as being questionable to return coming out of the halftime break. But he did return, though he didn’t make any catches in the second half. He wasn’t thrown a pass in the final 30 minutes and caught only one ball all game. He left the Superdome with a walking boot on his right ankle. When are we eligible to re-sign Marquis Johnson? Assuming he'd be willing to come back.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
I think every guy we've cut so far will pretty be available when we give them a call. We're working the wire like New England these days with a street free agent taxi squad.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
I do not like the sound of this on Graham: “We really don’t know of his progress right now,” Kromer said early Monday.
If it were just a sprain they would have said that. We do not know.... They are hiding something. |
Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
GREAT timing for the bye.
Maybe we can get both of them + Hawthorne back after this break |
Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
I have a bad feeling that Greer will be hobbled all season.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
Colston needs the rest also, he was struggling on that foot even though he had a huge game.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
i need to go back and give papz a like on his post about seining the wire for fit bodies. damm were the walking zombie town, looking at coaches, players, and managers that are outn for us. i saw when grahm folded that ankle under his own body. its the way he always falls after a catch. goes straight down to his knees after a catch and tacklle. he needs to improve on falling that whale body of his. remember ricky williams had that problem when ditka married him.

Greer is the one that I'm worried about. He's no spring chicken and that groin injury doesn't seem to be going away.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
Hate to say it, but; an incomplete pass to Greer's receiver = FIRST DOWN.
He has become an absolute mugger as of late. Graham needs to stop slam-dunking through the goal posts when he scores, too. I keep waiting for him to come down wrong and lame himself for celebrating. Alaska |

I do not see how he didn't get called for unsportsmanlike like conduct the way he handled him self after Meachems TD. |
Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
I think Graham will be fine. He was in the game making decent blocks. Staying off it a couple of weeks should be enough. If he was hurt that bad he would not have been out there period.

Re: Saints TE Graham, CB Greer get medical checks Monday
Obviously I am bummed if he is hurt and hope he gets 110% better, but on the other hand I thought it was kind of a good thing the other night to show the world that we could win "without" Jimmy Graham and his dunk.... I love the guy as much as anybody here but I think they were just about getting to the point of being a little too reliant on him, a little too predictable, too automatically going to him, a little TOO MUCH of the good thing...now other teams will still be afraid of our offense even if Jimmy is not in the game.
What we want is for defenses to be freaking out about EVERYBODY that the Saints line up against them, from top of the roster to the bottom, not just one or two guys like Coston and Graham and then teams feeling like they can key in and shut the Saints offense down with just those two guys. We want other teams to feel hopeless and crestfallen in the film room, no matter who is in or out of the game that particular week! |

Johnny Patrick should be back by week 7, and I believe Casillas & Hicks should be at or near 100% by then.

I think he isn't yet healthy enough to play, which was the reason he got cut in the first place and received the injury settlement from the team. |

And I read somewhere that the team that settles with him cannot resign him until after 6 (I think) games have passed. I can't remember what his injury was. ADDED: Here was his final tweet... Marquis Johnson@GQuis2425 #INJURY SETTLEMENT DONE ;((GOODBYE #WHODAT NATION! HAD A HELL OF A PRESEASON WITH U GUYS PLEASE CONTINUE TO FOR HEALTH 3 WEEKS ILL BE READY. |
