...and if you thought I was critical of the front office before... And while those are our primary positions of need, how they'll end up as a priority will work itself out depending on how the boys take to Spagnulo's defense... But I'd add DB to that list because Jabari Greer though good, can't stay healthy and it's become problematic... |

Question to thread author...
Are you a scout or agent or subject of thread? |
Re: Saints are in love with a RB from Stony Brook University
**** that they should not even be sniffing panties when it comes to a running back. We have too many needs on defense and I will blow a gasket if we spend another 1st round pick on a running back. IF we draft an offensive player, which I hope we don't, it should be a WR.

Re: Saints are in love with a RB from Stony Brook University
You'll all eat a slice of humble pie if they draft the next Adrian Peterson and trade off Ivory and Ingram for two D-studs.
Drafting first round needs usually means you are drafting someone to start in 2-3 years. Drafting a 1st round "best player available" means you can trade for start now players. Usually pick of the litter. |

S*** if I'm Mickey...I'm telling SP look....you can get a OT & maybe a WR but they're going to have to be in the later rounds. Rounds 1, 3-5 are Spags' picks.... LOL |
Re: Saints are in love with a RB from Stony Brook University
Exactly.... Spags needs some tools. When they brought him in they committed to making it work.
Drafting 3 D players means in two years Spags can make this work... Drafting for another teams immediate needs, means we can give them what they need for something we need. I find it interesting and comical how some people will say about White getting more time and being thrown in this early in his NFL career then turn around and say we need a fix now and need to draft Defensive players now. I dont know the rest of the league as well as I should but I bet next year there will be some 3-4 year seasoned defensive players that we could grab that would give Spags exactly what he needs for 2013. |
I didn't see anything in the article that said the Saints were specifically interested, so I will withhold from throwing Loomis under the bus or declaring our entire front office is a bust, until the kid is actually suited up in a Saints uniform and the defense is still ranked dead last, and when every other team in the league has picked up a stud defensive player from next year's draft except us, then maybe we'll talk.
Look, they are scouts. They look at players. All kinds of players. If they weren't looking at small school running backs as well as everything else, THEN I'd feel like they'd be doing something drastically wrong. Because part of the job of a scout or a front office is just to know what's going on out there, because YOU NEVER KNOW. God forbid it should happen, but we might lose 3 of our 4 running backs to career-ending injuries in a single month, and what do you want the Saints' front office to do then -- not know anything about the current crop of running backs, if suddenly that becomes a gaping hole in the team due to unforseen circumstances? |
Re: Saints are in love with a RB from Stony Brook University
ill like this ONLY if we trade ingram or ivory or cadet for a pro bowl defensive lineman
|
Re: Saints are in love with a RB from Stony Brook University
We do not need pro bowl caliber.. Just productive caliber.
We are not built to be a defensive team and the power will never move in that direction... That would disrupt the space time continuum. Remember salary cap - Pick one side of the ball and DOMINATE. |
