1. LACKING KILLER INSTINCT: Times-Picayune editor/First-and-10 research assistant Gene Guillot came up with an enlightening breakdown that illustrates the Saints' lack of "killer instinct" this year. Even in their Week 5 victory over the Chargers, Guillot pointed out that the Saints didn't "step on the gas pedal" as they had done in previous seasons.
During the Saints' nine-game winning streak in 2011, including their playoff win over Detroit, here's what they did during the 58 possessions in which they had a lead: 28 touchdowns (48 percent), 7 field goals, 2 missed field goals, 6 turnovers, 15 punts.
