This defense does not deserve a Vick's vapor rub supplied by Drew Brees on the house.

Was it just me or did Tampa have the ball for like 25 minutes in the second half?

What the heck happened? Did we try to go really conservative?

They allowed 21 points in the first 1/2. You can take em and keep em.

Sorry.... TB lost this through key penalties.

The refs were horrendous in this game. To the extent taht after every key play, I looked for a flag. But to their credit, I thought it was evenly bad for both teams.
Neither the Bucs or Saints got an edge.

We get Vitt back next week too. Don't know if that is going to help, but I'll take it.

our offense should have ran out the clock, but they gave the ball back to tampa twice because they couldnt get 3 yards

I also expect this game to be replayed on NFL Network as one of the Games of the Week.

Doesn't mean I have to like it.

Since we are going to let our opponents cover the entire field anyway we may as well have gone for the 3 yards both times.

It's not like TB needed field position.

It could of been worse...
The defense is improving week and week and we're still in this.
Road games are always hard for us and Divison games are always tough.
Like I said could of been worse

Uhh, I'll slightly beg to differ. The offense threw an int that gave the ball to tampa at our 11 yard line I think. So yes they gave up that td, true, but the odds were against them getting the stop. I did not like how they looked on the last drive, not at all. Was terrible, real terrible. I did not think there should have been a final drive because the first illegal contact on Harper was total and absolute garbage. Either way, I am glad we got the win.

Does anyone know why Patrick isn't starting?

Yeah, this is the most disconcerting part to me. What the heck was going on?!?!

On the other hand, a team should be able to go up by 2 TDs halfway through the 3rd and count on the D to close out.

TheOak 10-21-2012 03:52 PM

We play Denver and Payton Manning next week in Denver. Manning has been playing very well.

What our defense did today will not have the same out come next week. That's why I am so unsatisfied.

Wait for them to actually play the game before you count the defense out

Man... I thought our defense played awesome today! Apparently I'm in the minority though. After the first quarter it's like a light went on for everybody and our defense was amazing. Even Spags knew what was up because he took Will Smith out and let Junior play the majority of the snaps. Now we get Vitt back... I feel so happy after today's game!

It was a good game. Defense is slowly but surely getting better.
I honestly think we have a good shot on the road vs Denver.

At this point I have 6 games to base my opinion off of. They have yet to stop a QB. We've only played Rogers that is worth speaking of.

We are damn good with in the 10. Other than that we stink it up, way too many passing TDs.

While I appreciate the debate, only the Defense is going to change my view.

Good edit :)

Enjoy the win a little man!! Hey, we won. Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy.

I did..... Then got a Facebook msg from an old army buddy that is a Broncos fan and I have had to hear his bromance for Payton way too long.

Not trying to change your mind but we did have an interception taken from us. I don't know if Tampa scored on that drive or not
However a bad call kept a drive alive in the 4th which resulted in a Tampa TD.
The defense is noweheres near what people wanted.
However I'm extremely happy about batted down balls, sacks, pressure and a road win against a divison team.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think we're getting better each week

Manning has to be salivating right now. He's going to drop this defense like a spotlighted deer on a railroad track.

Just jumping in here...
Was anyone else frustrated with the 4th quarter offensive play calling?
Up by 14... You have to realize one score will win you the game... Go for the jugular!!! I hated the ticky tacky play the clock bull****. Predictable runs and short passes, **** that!
Anyone agree?

Who dat!

Yeah it was very frustrating watching us trying to run bootleg plays when we had success splitting 5 wide including sproles and letting them work

We got very conservative, tried to run way too much and gave the bucs the ball back twice with the chance to beat us

Yes a few plays back I reflected on it. I believe the term was "sucked".

Crusader 10-21-2012 05:25 PM

Re: Saints vs Bucks Gameday thread Week 7

A WIN is a WIN is a WIN. I take them any way they come, ecpecially when it brings us out from the cellar. Brees had a great day, the INT not his fault. I'd say this was his best game of the year, getting the record probably lets him focus on only winning. Harpers INT was a INT, refs screwed that one up but otherwise had a good game. Defence came out of this one awefully bent but didn't totally break. Jenkins had a terrific hustle play. Pressure was so so, guys were close but...

We still can't run the ball.

They have the 4th best run defense in the league, be glad they didn't abandon the run all together

Re: Saints vs Bucks Gameday thread Week 7

Agree Mitch. After the 1st I thought for sure we were finished running but low and behold they stuck with it which was quite a surprise and I think it messed with the Bucs. We setup some nice play action that kept us in the game. I really liked that flee flicker the Bucs rans though. I hope we get the gonads to run that play, I think it would work great against the Broncos.

ChrisXVI 10-21-2012 05:38 PM

Re: Saints vs Bucks Gameday thread Week 7

I thought we played an awesome game. After the 1st quarter Kromer took Will Smith out of the game for Junior and it wasn't a bad idea at all seeing as how Junior got a sack and a few tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Vilma was all over the field making great plays with QB pressures, a tipped pass and tackles for a loss. Yall need to chill... I saw the lightbulb go on for our defense today and with Vitt back now it's only going to get better.

What's going on man? I used to live out your way- Hampton. HRBT sucks!

Anyway, I kinda agree. I thought that we et up 14 in the first half and 7 in the second, and that was kind of given with the horrific call on Harper. There were way too many blown coverages and missed tackles, but from week 1, we have improved, and seem to be getting better each week. I think that is 3 straight games of giving up only 7 points in the 2nd half.

Need to get better, but **** at least there is improvement.

I'll be taking the HRBT to work next year... Portsmouth
5 years left till retirement :)

Re: Saints vs Bucks Gameday thread Week 7

Here is the difference. If I only wanted a win, I would approach this just like fantasy football.. Check the scores and wait till it ends.

I watch the games because I like to watch the Saints play... A loss with great play doesn't bother me as much as a win with bad play.

A win has nothing to do with what happens next week and the rest of the season. Ugly play has everything to do with next week and the rest of the season.. Consistent ugly play tells a story.
