Question of the Day.

Why aren't we pushing ALL receivers out of bounds when the QB leaves the pocket?

Bump the WR out of bounds "if possible" as soon as the QB leaves the pocket and you can stop covering him. That receiver becomes ineligible unless the pass is tipped.

Playing the game within the rules is how you win.

I think "if possible" is a key word and that's the part that's easier said then done, but yeah I agree wholeheartedly. I also need to watch that play again a few more times, but when I watched a couple of the replays right afterwards, it did kinda look like Patrick Robinson pushed his man out and then sorta eased up on the play, which let the guy come back in and be so wide open like that. Then P-Rob immediately started pointing at him after the catch, like "throw the flag," Bobby Hebert noticed it too. I'd be EXTREMELY impressed if it was actually a heads-up play by P-Rob, involving knowing that complicated and sort of obscure technical part of the rules --I'd give him huge hella credit if he did it on purpose, knowing that the game would end on that play. But either way I'LL TAKE IT.

Was it not illegal contact by PRob to push him out of bounds? Or is that covered by the QB being out of the pocket as well? Regardless, it's shocking to see the Saints get a big call to go there way.

Nope not illegal contact

As soon as the QB leaves the pocket WR's can be pushed out of bounds, part of the rules

I've seen pat Robinson do it a few times, saw him do it in 2011 vs titans

Once the Qb steps out of the pocket... Its all fair game.. Thats why it wasn't a TD.

Yes, if you look at the replay he definitely pushed him out on purpose and my mind was blown as to his knowing to do it in the situation. He gets a big thumbs up for that play.

I only got to see the last 45 secs of that game and my heart almost burst out of my chest. One thing that puzzles me is that when following the game on my phone, Drew threw for 6000 yds and 24 TDs in the first half and ended the game with 6023 yds and 24 TDs for the game. What happened?

So from what I'm reading here, WRs are fair game after the QB leaves the pocket, if it wasn't for Goddell's master plan to sissify the NFL I would love to see Jenkins go Jack Tatum on someone

I think even "giving 'em the business" is legal after the QB leaves the pocket like that!
