Vitt to take over head coaching duties
1 Attachment(s)
The six-game suspension of New Orleans Saints interim coach Joe Vitt came to an end with the conclusion of Sunday’s game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Vitt traveled to Tampa on a commercial flight Sunday morning before the game, and accompanied the team on its charter flight back to New Orleans after a 35-28 victory over the Bucs in Raymond James Stadium. http://prod.static.saints.clubs.nfl....itt_joe_v2.jpg Multiple media outlets reported that Vitt, who was suspended for his role in the alleged bounty scandal, would return with the team when his ban officially ended at the final whistle. He regains the reins from offensive line coach and run game coordinator Aaron Kromer, who was the interim to the interim for the first six games. Saints fullback Jed Collins tweeted: “Got a special guest on the plane ride home Welcome Back Coach Vitt!!! http://theadvocate.com/csp/mediapool...YPE=image/jpeg Read More |
Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Got a good feeling that the offensive line and running game is about to show some life for the first time this season in Denver

Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Welcome back Joe, just in time to help prepare for Peyton Manning. I hope you got plenty of rest.

Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
I don't know if having Vitt back will really help, but I'm sure he'll bring some swagger and and a fiery attitude and those are things this year's team has been missing. We have been lacking the killer instinct in second halves and nearly gave away another yesterday that shouldn't have been close.
Welcome Back, Joe! |
Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Vitt and Vilma back for an epic struggle against the Manning they defeated not so long ago...we'll certainly need both of them.

Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Them being back cannot hurt.
It takes time to get rythym going with your team. Training camp and preseason was that time. The Saints lost lots of time this year without having key personnel. |

Seriously tho, anyone else notice we've only given up 7 points in the 2nd half for three straight games? |

Welcome back coach. Now go fix the LB'ers!

Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Joe vitt is as close to getting Sean Payton back without actually getting Payton back
He and Payton have the same attitude, vitt has been with Payton since 2006 and learned, I hope he brings more fire to our team We have some momentum now, lets keep it rolling and destroy the broncos 10K for whoever sacks manning lmao |

Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
Vitt has no qualms about ripping a player who needs to be ripped; Kromer was at times reluctant to let a guy have it. And with Vitt, there’s an energy that instantly returned to the team.
There’s also a sense of humor. As others have reported, Vitt was on the team plane from Tampa back to New Orleans. Hiding in the cockpit, he got on the intercom and said, “Listen up, you f–kers. Put your trays up and buckle your seat belt of I’ll come f–king do it myself.” Or words to that effect. So welcome back, Joe. With the Saints on a two-game winning streak and a date with Denver looming, things could get very interesting, very quickly. Saints welcome Vitt’s energy, sense of humor | ProFootballTalk |
Re: Vitt to take over head coaching duties
I'm glad he's back so Aaron Kromer can go back to coaching the offensive line full time instead of splitting duties between being the offensive line coach and the head coach.
