So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
If the Saints are coming under all this fire and damnation; how come the Jets are not under investigation? Isn't this following statement, premeditation?
"We want to knock him out, but we're out to do it legally," linebacker Aaron Maybin said. "Every time he sees me, he will remember that hit," Landry said. "If I'm in the box or I'm going downhill, he'll remember that hit." "If I get penalized, I'm not going to stop head-hunting," he said. "I'm not going to stop the way I play." What's the difference? The NFL says it punished us because our players were purposefully trying to hurt other players. The World, to include players and former players were shocked by "What our team did". Why is this not plastered all over the news?!?!?!?!:brood: Here's the rest of the story Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins RB, owes Darrelle Revis of New York Jets apology, Rex Ryan says - ESPN New York |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Probably because no one said they were getting paid for the hits.

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
The "Pay" part was only a little of what the deeper issue was' so says Roger.
The main issue was that our boys were intentionally trying to hurt players. Well, what the hell are those statements? If Benson isn't call the Roger today jumping up and down for what these guys have said, he's crazy. The Saints didn't start this whole thing. With the Jets' statements, it proves this goes on throughout the NFL, College and High School. I know I haven't been very vocal about this crap; but my time has arrived. I knew a player on another team would run his mouth and say something like this. Now, if the Saints are such deamons, something needs to be done about these players as well. Rex Ryan included. Yes. I am pissed off. Sorry. |
Money rules. NY #1 tv market.

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Goodell isn't trying to pound his chest and make himself look like he cares about player safety. He came under fire from the players union for not paying attention to concussions, so he conveniently exposed the 'bounty' program. He threw the saints under the bus to try and protect his own image, he doesn't really care

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Besides being the largest market, by a mile, the NFL loves the Rex Ryan freak show. They will turn a blind eye to a lot of crap-ola, if anythings done, it will probably be done by the devil's lackey/minion.

New YORK...not New Orleans...
|
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Well, that's B.S. if that is the reasoning for not hammering the Jets.
I mean, it's the Jets. Not the Giants. |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Giants said the same during the NFC Championship last year. Terrell Suggs placed a bounty on national TV in the past.
Bottom line is, we are the scapegoat and the NFL has their evidence to show they were both proactive and reactive to concussion related issues for their law suit. They don't need to react to this anymore thanks to us. |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
The more that comes out about past "performance pay", "bounties", etc...
They helped to create a "gladiator image" of the players and have profited for decades. Looks like "who can I profit on today and for how long?" |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
I just hope Ginsberg's team is taking notes and collecting video clips which they can present in court during the defamation trial.

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Actually, if Godhell had any common sense he would pick out a couple of other incidents and hammer them for misconduct. Spread the damage a bit.......but then again he may not want to risk another uprising.
It's beginning to look like public opinion is swaying. Hit somebody else for a change. |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
This is beyond comprehension. What we have now are players saying yes, I want to knock another player out. I will hit with the intent to injure for nothing more than my salary. I will try my best however to make it a legal hit. There is no secret squirrel stuff going on here. The NFL doesn't even raise an eyebrow. LOL!!!! Ginsberg is about to go top rope on Roger.

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
He'd have to suspend the entire league if statements like those were wrong. During the game against the Bucs, John Lynch said referring to Carl Nicks playing against his former team that a player in his position would do his best to "bash in the brains" of his former teammates as a way to get back at the team for not offering him as much cash.
This kind of talk and paying on the side for performance is pervasive in the NFL and the SAINTS are clearly being used here. |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
The NFL's viewpoint or system for evaluating and protecting the game does not consider a player saying he will hurt someone as a threat or a problem. Then why are the Saints even being punished? Under this system you can say whatever you want. It doesn't matter if you mean it or not as long as you do not accept additional money for saying or carring out the action? LOL!!!! This is absurd.

This is what they are after Vilma for. Because he SAID "I got $10K for whoever knocks Favre out". What is the difference?!?!?! I am really starting to get POed about this bounty crap. edit: I don't think Roger knows what he has created and I hope he gets burned at the stake for this. |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
I can tell you why.
Jets have no Fleur de Lys |
Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
Well you can bet if Landry r the other fella do have a illegal hit on bush they will most likely be suspended n fined a pretty penny !

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
The Union should encourage its members to talk this way. It's freaking FOOTBALL. The Union should force Goodell's hand by telling the players to use 'edgy' language - they should MAKE him be the language police to either show the hypocrisy or expose the overall silliness of it all.

Re: So how is this not on Goodell's suspenion list?
I agree with all of you.
Add, the point some have made that RG and NFL are trying to use Saints as creditable leverage, proof in the lawsuits, well, none of this will work. As if the atty's for these former players will not use any of this kind of current talk from other teams as proof the league does nothing, not enough to stop concussions. |
