I like the black and black also, it's attitude and aggression to me. This team doesn't have the swagger to wear them this year.

This was actually a THING. Somebody (not me) once figured it all out and laid it out there, how it works, but I don't remember the details of it now.

In the Payton era, the team kinda has like these little rules and superstitions, or guidelines, about the uniforms; I think they come from him.

They wear white jerseys and gold pants at home in the preseason and early part of the year; they wear the black on black only at night home games later in the year; they wear the white jerseys and black pants in certain road games, and the white jerseys and gold pants in others. (There is some mysterious reason to it but I don't have a clue what.)

I remember reading about this, where someone (can't remember who) once said that Payton kinda likes the white jerseys and black pants in the road uniform better, than the gold, but he respects the gold pants as a tradition and realizes they are important and popular. But the theory was that he started inching the team towards the black pants and white jersey look, because the black pants/white jerseys look kinda like the Bears, and of course Payton is an Illinois kinda guy and played for the Bears, when they were wearing a similar scheme in the 80s. That was what somebody said.

But apparently there is kind of a method to the madness, of what uniforms they pick, somewhat. It is pretty consistent what they do -- you can kind of predict it.

Do you know the reason behind them not wearing the golden jerseys anymore? They've worn them during SP's era a couple of times, but the last time was already a couple of years ago if my memory serves me right.

the owner of the team said years ago he don't approve of the black on black after a bad lost. he quoted that all black made us look small and weak. does anyone else remember this?

I like the gold/white look. when your shirt & your britches are both solid colors... well mama said not to do that. It looks arena league.

But I wouldnt mind it for the Eagles game.

I hope Black on Black isn't for a funeral.
Hope rings eternal.
Maybe they will tackle better in Black.
Maybe they will get some push off the edge in Black.
Maybe they will stuff the run with all Black.
Perhaps, they will commit to running the ball in Black.
The screen plays might start working again if they wear Black.
The play calling might even improve if they wear Black.
I'm all for it if any of the above becomes true.
