Should we bring him in? Can he help the team?

Did I miss any of the usual questions that are asked when there are mid season cuts?

Totally sarcastic thread. I am against bringing in cut players during the season

I get what you mean, but I'm not totally against bringing in mid-season cuts, because sometimes a player just doesn't fit a certain system, but does another. And sometimes players are cut because their cost/value ratio just doesn't sit well with the front office, and, therefore, there might not be anything wrong with the player per se just his contract - this might be the case when other players are brought in from the PUP or IR lists.

That being said, I don't think Mr. Hill has much worth to the Saints.

One thing about the Saints is they show great patience in developing players, ie, Morgan, Aarington, Moore, Henderson, etc., and this kid brings the speed too, so I wouldn't mind the Saints signing this kid to the PS and coach him up.

I just got verbally poked in the eyes on another fan site about Jason Hill and others. I will say this, but no more. And apparently I'm in the minority...

Why does it seem like Saints fans want to sign every guy that's cut or tradeable? Moss, Hill, Bowe and Winslow come to mind as examples. I understand we all like to play gm & just want our team to get better, but it seems like we do this on EVERY player. If this were Terrel Suggs for example I would understand. We needs defensive improvements and Suggs is a great player... That's good imaginary gm-ing lol... But its always some WR, as though our number 1 passing attack is a problem. Even with our injuries, we're number flippin' 1

I'm not griping about this thread, because it was in jest. In fact, you don't know how much I appreciate this thread.

I'll get off my soapbox now :)

What I don't know is when we bring somebody in how do we evaluate him to know what he has left in the tank? I know he has to pass a physical and all but besides some timed drills what else is there?

All there is to evaluate is health, strength, and speed. Knowledge, raw skills, and talent do not diminish. They only be come less effective as a player ages.... Slows down and weakens.
