Our D is real mess right now, but everyone can see positive things from hicks

I believe he is the type of young raw player that we need to build our D around, because at the moment

our corners are way too small
our safeties are too slow and hate to tackle
our LB's can't shed blocks and get to the ball
our D line looks really small against regular O lineman, except for hicks

He made several good plays last night, blowing up the pocket (something sed ellis has never done in 6 years)

he plays nasty, none of this patty cake crap, he just says get off me and pushes O lineman with arm

Which is why I can't understand the reason he is not starting? W T F!! The dude makes plays every game when he is in there but yet we are forced to watch the failings on Smellis and Tom eff'n Johnson.

Its Bleacher Report....nuff said. Hicks has been the one bright spot on that line.

This is true, he is the only one on that line that did anything last night. One man can't do it all. Just ask Brees that. ( Although he sucked last night too )

I liked Johnson too. I try to keep saying for people to have just a little patience with Spags. Give him next season. I really think we will improve. We have some guys, Jordan, Johnson, and Hicks on DLIne that are going to improve

I have to admit that Johnson has improved since he got with the team. He has clawed and scratched his way off of the practice squad and into the starting lineup like a champ. Now whether or not he could go and do the same on other teams out there...well, maybe the reason he starts is because we have the worst defense in the league. He does seem to have raised his game in his time here though IMO

The announcers said he got his first start yesterday.

They lied! Tom Johnson and Smellis were the starters. It even showed it on tv when they did the rundown of players starting for both teams.

Tom Johnson was in there the most. You could tell when Hicks was in. He was the only one making a play.

When we draft high next year we need someone to pair with Hicks. That ought to give us a little push.

No we need to draft well next year. Must I remind you that Ellis and Smith are both first round picks, and so was Sullivan. Being a high pick does no guarantee success, being the right pick does.
