Saints’ Travaris Cadet likely to assume versatile back role

METAIRIE — He was the star of the Saints’ preseason.
But now Saints rookie Travaris Cadet looks to be in the spotlight when the final score matters. Darren Sproles, who set the NFL all-purpose yardage record last season, is out indefinitely with a broken hand, the team announced on Friday, and his kickoff return duties, plus possibly his versatile role in the backfield, are likely to be assumed by Cadet, a free agent from Appalachian State who earned a roster spot in the preseason by displaying precisely those skills. “It’s a big blow to lose a guy like Darren who can do so many things,” Cadet, an undrafted free agent from Appalachian State, said after the Saints (2-5) completed practice for Monday night’s game against Philadelphia (3-4). “It kind of changes up the game plan a little bit. “Right now, they’re telling me I’ll be pretty much doing what he did.” Read more: Saints |

Let Ingram get going, do not stray from the run game
If you give Pierre and Ingram 12-15 carries each, they will do good things Ingram is the type of back that needs multiple carries to get going |

"assume" is the operative word here.

Cadet doesn't have anything to do with Ingram or PT... Or Ivory for what it's worth.
I've a feeling Ivory is gong to take some of Ingram's roll. |

If you give them each 12-15 carries how will Drew Brees get 30+ attempts, 300+ yard passing and maintain HIS record setting pace? |

Easily.... as long as out defense can get off the dam field. |

Easy! As long as they are getting positive results he will not have to throw it 50+ times. That is where the problem lies. He will maintain his record setting pace with no problem. Heck, with a nice running game it will make it a much easier task. |
Re: Saints’ Travaris Cadet likely to assume versatile back role
with cadet hands get him into the slot
Try Ingram at fullback for a couple of sets. defenses would play the run and stuff the box or at least be confused as to the proper defensive call. at least a burned time out is productive. hell a screen to Ingram would be a change of pace. |
Re: Saints’ Travaris Cadet likely to assume versatile back role
Ivory in the backfield at FB should open the screen for PT nicely.

That's just more great freakin news. On the plus side maybe it will force the offense to change up the schemes so we are not so predictable.
